      "he": "מד\nבְּעֶזְרַת הַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ, מוֹצָאֵי שַׁבָּת הַגָּדוֹל [י\"ג ניסן] תקצ\"א.\nאֲהוּבִי בְּנִי.\nבְּעֶרֶב שַׁבָּת שָׁלַחְתִּי לְךָ מִכְתָּבִי בַּאֲרִיכוּת, וּבְוַדַּאי הָיָה לְךָ לְנַחַת, וְתוֹדָה לָאֵל כְּבָר הוֹעִיל לִי הַרְבֵּה הַמִּכְתָּב שֶׁכָּתַבְתִּי לְךָ בְּעֶזְרַת הַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ, שִׂים לִבְּךָ הֵיטֵב לַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְיֶעֱרַב לְךָ לָנֶצַח. כָּעֵת אֵין לְחַדֵּשׁ דָּבָר, וְיֶעֱרַב לָכֶם שִׂמְחַת הֶחָג הַקָּדוֹשׁ הַבָּא עָלֵינוּ לְטוֹבָה, וְתִזְכֶּה לְהִתְחַדֵּשׁ מֵעַתָּה לְגַמְרֵי לָצֵאת מֵעַבְדוּת לְחֵרוּת עוֹלָם מֵחָמֵץ לְמַצָּה שֶׁלֹּא תַּחְמִיץ עוֹד אֶת מֹחֲךָ חַס וְשָׁלוֹם בְּשׁוּם מַחֲשָׁבוֹת חִיצוֹנִיּוֹת, מִכָּל שֶׁכֵּן וְכָל שֶׁכֵּן בְּשׁוּם תַּאֲוָה וְהִרְהוּר חַס וְשָׁלוֹם. וּתְקַיֵּם גְּעַר חַיַּת קָנֶה כַּמְבֹאָר בְּסִימָן ה' עַיֵּן שָׁם וְעַל יְדֵי זֶה תִּזְכֶּה לְשִׂמְחָה וְכוּ' אָמֵן כֵּן יְהִי רָצוֹן.\nדִּבְרֵי אָבִיךָ הַדּוֹרֵשׁ שְׁלוֹמְךָ בְּאַהֲבָה.\nנָתָן מִבְּרֶסְלֶב",
      "en": "Peace and life — to my beloved son, my dear one,\n our Teacher the Rabbi Yitzchok — may he live.\n\nYour letter I received before Shabbos. And behold — no doubt you have already\n heard that in my household the children have been ill with\n the illness of the\n mazlin\n [מָאזְלִין — measles; the text adds in parentheses the\n contemporary term ademes — scarlet fever or rubella. Both were\n life-threatening in the nineteenth century with no medical treatment]\n — and they were in great danger. And by the kindness of Hashem they returned\n to their health with the help of Hashem Yisborach.\n\nBut my son Yosef Yonah — may he live — is still laid on\n the sickbed of illness\n [עֶרֶשׂ דְּוַי — eres d'vai: a direct\n biblical phrase from Tehillim 41:4 — Hashem will support him on the\n sickbed of illness [ה' יִסְעָדֶנּוּ עַל עֶרֶשׂ דְּוָי].\n Reb Nussun then immediately prays ה' יִסְעֳדֵהוּ — \"may Hashem\n support him\" — using the very same verb from that same verse. The verse in\n Tehillim continues: \"You have transformed all his lying down in his illness\"\n — the whole passage is a prayer for miraculous recovery through divine support,\n not human remedy].\n May Hashem support him speedily. Also in the household of my son Rabbi Shakhnah\n — may he live — two children were ill with the aforementioned illness — and\n thank G-d they are returning to their strength with the help of Hashem\n Yisborach.\n\nAnd now my eyes are strained all day to hear the good from\n your son — may he live. Please, very much — inform me quickly of his\n good welfare. And a prayer to the Living G-d that I merit quickly to hear good\n tidings from him — that he has returned to his health. And may Hashem Yisborach\n lengthen his days and years — and may you merit to raise him to Torah, to the\n chuppah [marriage canopy] and to good deeds —\n Omain.\n\nAnd behold — we already know that in all that passes over a person\n we have no refuge except to Him, Yisborach, alone.\n And all His intention, Yisborach, in all He brings upon a person — everything\n is only so that he remember Him and pray to Him — as\n it is written:\n Call out to Me in the day of distress — I will rescue you and you will\n honour Me\n [Tehillim 50:15].\n\nAnd now, my son — take upon yourself the yoke of Heaven at\n every time — and pray to Him at every time about every matter — and\n hope in Hashem and He will save you. And on account of the urgency it is\n impossible to extend further.\n\nThe words of your father — who seeks your peace always with love, and who\n intercedes on your behalf, and who awaits to hear the good from you always.\n\nNussun of Breslov."
