"הכנות התפילה", לא יאכל ולא ישתה ולא ידבר קודם התפילה, וגם הדיבור המוכרח מאד יקצר ובזה תהיה תפילתו רצויה, כי צריכין להכניס כל כוחו וכוונתו בדיבורי התפילה לכן אין להחליש ולהפסיק הרצונות של נפשו המתגעגעת לשפוך שיחה לפני קונה:
One should fix set times for Torah study and study with joy — not interrupting one's learning for anything not absolutely necessary. One should intend through the learning to merit complete faith, and strive to draw from the learning correct guidance for the service of Hashem Yisborach. One should also innovate in Torah — according to the foundations of the da'as of Rabbainu — and through this one draws close to Hashem Yisborach in truth and brings those far away near to the service of Hashem Yisborach.
