יְדִידוּת לִבִּי, בַּעַל שֵׂכֶל בָּהִיר יָשָׁר וְזַךְ לִבְחֹן וּלְבָרֵר הָאֱמֶת הָאֲמִתִּי הַפּוֹדֶה מִכָּל הַצָּרוֹת, בַּעַל הַיְשׁוּעוֹת יוֹשִׁיעַ אוֹתְךָ שֶׁתִּבְרַח מִכָּל מַה שֶּׁעוֹבֵר עָלֶיךָ לְהַצַּדִּיק הַמְהַפֵּךְ הַכֹּל לְטוֹבָה.

הָאִגְּרוֹת שֶׁלָּנוּ הֵם רְפוּאוֹת יְקָרוֹת, כִּי הֵם מַיִם חַיִּים נוֹזְלִים מִמַּעְיַן הַחָכְמָה שֶׁל הַבֶּעטְלֶר הָעִוֵּר שֶׁהוּא הַזָּקֵן שֶׁבַּזְּקֵנִים, שֶׁאָמַר אֲנִי זָקֵן מְאֹד וַאֲנִי תִּינוֹק וְיָנִיק לְגַמְרֵי וְכוּ', אֲשֶׁר הוּא רְפוּאָתֵינוּ וְחַיֵּינוּ לְדוֹר דּוֹר. יִרְאוּ עֵינֶיךָ וְיִשְׂמַח לִבְּךָ, וְרָאוּי לְךָ לָתֵת לֵב לְקַבֵּל מִזֶּה רְמָזִים נִפְלָאִים לְהָבִין פְּעֻלּוֹת ה' וּגְדֻלָּתוֹ עַד אֵין חֵקֶר שֶׁעֲדַיִן רַחֲמֵי ה' יִתְבָּרַךְ עָלֶיךָ וְעָלַי, וּבְוַדַּאי לֹא יַעֲזֹב אוֹתְךָ לְעוֹלָם, וְאֵיךְ שֶׁיִּהְיֶה, אֵיךְ שֶׁיִּהְיֶה, יִהְיֶה אַחֲרִיתְךָ לְטוֹבָה, רַק חֲזַק וֶאֱמַץ מְאֹד לְהִתְגַּבֵּר בְּכָל עֹז לְשַׂמֵּחַ נַפְשְׁךָ תָּמִיד בְּכָל עֵת, וְלַהֲפֹךְ כָּל מִינֵי מְרִירוּת דִּמְרִירוּת, וְכָל מִינֵי יָגוֹן וַאֲנָחָה לְשָׂשׂוֹן וְשִׂמְחָה. כִּי מָה הָיִינוּ עוֹשִׂים אִם בִּמְרִירוּת וְיָגוֹן וַאֲנָחָה כָּזֹאת הָיִינוּ מִתְנַגְּדִים עַל אוֹר הָאוֹרוֹת כָּזֶה שֶׁהוּא מְקוֹר חַיֵּינוּ וְכָל תִּקְוָתֵנוּ לָנֶצַח. חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, הָיָה נֶאֱבָד תִּקְוָתֵנוּ לְגַמְרֵי חָלִילָה. עַתָּה עַתָּה יֵשׁ וָיֵשׁ תִּקְוָה טוֹבָה וְנִפְלָאָה לְכָל הַדּוֹרוֹת וְגַם לִי גַּם לְךָ יִהְיֶה תִּקְוָה טוֹבָה בְּלִי סָפֵק. קַוֵּה לַה' וְיוֹשַׁע לַךְ!
How very sweet are your words to me, and how very much you have given me life with your pleasant words. My dear beloved brother — seeing that, praise be to G-d, the words of Rabbainu za.tza.l. are making such an impression on your pleasant heart, and giving life to your soul and restoring it so greatly. I have hoped and waited for Hashem, that He increase His kindness with you, to grant you success and to make your end better than your beginning.

הַכְּלָל שֶׁצְּרִיכִין הָרַבִּי הַגָּדוֹל בְּיוֹתֵר כְּדֵי לִזְכּוֹת לְהַשָּׂגוֹת אֱלֹקוּת, וּמִי שֶׁמְּקָרֵב עַצְמוֹ לְקָטָן בַּמַּעֲלָה, לֹא דַּי שֶׁאֵינוֹ מוֹעִיל לוֹ, כִּי אֵינוֹ יָכוֹל לְרַפְּאוֹת חֳלָיֵי נַפְשׁוֹ הָעֲצוּמִים, אַף גַּם מְקַלְקְלוֹ הַרְבֵּה. מִכָּל שֶׁכֵּן כְּשֶׁזֶּה הַקָּטָן בַּמַּעֲלָה הוּא בַּעַל מַחֲלֹקֶת וְחוֹלֵק עַל הַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת הַגָּדוֹל בַּמַּעֲלָה מֻפְלֶגֶת מְאֹד, שֶׁהוּא יָגֵעַ כָּל יָמָיו לְהַמְשִׁיךְ הַשָּׂגַת וִידִיעַת אֱלֹקוּתוֹ יִתְבָּרַךְ בִּדְרָכִים נִפְלָאִים, בְּשִׂכְלִיּוּת עֲמֻקִּים וְנִפְלָאִים נוֹרָאִים וַעֲצוּמִים וְנִשְׂגָּבִים מְאֹד מְאֹד, עַד אֲשֶׁר בְּגֹדֶל כֹּחוֹ וְחָכְמָתוֹ הָרָמָה יָכוֹל לְהַכְנִיס הַשָּׂגַת וִידִיעַת אֱלֹקוּתוֹ יִתְבָּרַךְ אֲפִלּוּ בְּכָל הָרְחוֹקִים מְאֹד, וּבְעֹצֶם כֹּחוֹ הִשְׁאִיר אַחֲרָיו בְּרָכָה סְפָרִים נוֹרָאִים כָּאֵלֶּה וְהִתְגַלּוּת חִדּוּשִׁים חֲדָשִׁים כָּאֵלֶּה, וְתַלְמִידִים יְקָרִים שֶׁמַּמְשִׁיכִין הֶאָרַת דַּעְתּוֹ הַקְּדוֹשָׁה לְדוֹרוֹת.
Be strong and courageous, my dearest, to gladden yourself with all your might, at all times, through all the paths we have received from the source of wisdom — both through the good points, and through what we have merited to know from such a light of all lights, and through "Who has not made me a gentile." For joy is a remedy for all kinds of ailments — especially since the power of the

וְזֶה הַקָּטָן בַּמַּעֲלָה אֲשֶׁר אֵינוֹ יוֹדֵעַ שׁוּם דֶּרֶךְ וְנָתִיב וּשְׁבִיל בְּהַמְשָׁכַת הַשָּׂגוֹת אֱלֹקוּת לָעוֹלָם, כִּי גַּם בְּעַצְמוֹ עֲדַיִן לֹא הִתְחִיל לְהַשִּׂיג שׁוּם הַשָּׂגָה קַלָּה, וּכְשֶׁהוּא חוֹלֵק עַל צַדִּיק כָּזֶה, וְתוֹרָה כָּזֹאת, וְעַל אֲנָשָׁיו הָעוֹסְקִים בִּסְפָרָיו הַקְּדוֹשִׁים שֶׁעַל-יָדָם יְכוֹלִים לְרַפְּאוֹת גַּם הַחוֹלֶה הַגָּדוֹל בְּיוֹתֵר, וַעֲדַיִן הוּא עוֹסֵק אַחַר הִסְתַּלְּקוּתוֹ לְהַמְשִׁיךְ וּלְהָאִיר הַשָּׂגוֹת אֱלֹקוּת גַּם בְּהַרְחוֹקִים וְהַחוֹלִים בְּיוֹתֵר עַל-יְדֵי סְפָרָיו וְתַלְמִידָיו הַיְקָרִים, וְזֶה חוֹלֵק עֲלֵיהֶם - בְּוַדַּאי הוּא מְקַלְקֵל הַרְבֵּה מְאֹד לְהַשּׁוֹמְעִים אֵלָיו לְהִתְרַחֵק מִמְּקוֹר חַיִּים כָּאֵלֶּה!
Tzadik already exists in the world, the Beggar who had no hands, who heals the King's Daughter — who is the aspect of the collective of the souls of Israel — through the ten kinds of melody, which are the collective of joy.

יֵשׁ מַנְהִיגִים שֶׁנִּקְרָאִים בְּשֵׁם רַבִּי, וּבְוַדַּאי אֵינָם יְכוֹלִים לְהַנְהִיג אֲפִלּו אֶת עַצְמָן, מִכָּל שֶׁכֵּן אֲחֵרִים. וְאַף-עַל-פִּי כֵן הֵם נוֹטְלִים גְּדֻלָּה לְעַצְמָן וְרוֹדְפִים אַחַר הַהִתְנַשְּׂאוּת לְהַנְהִיג הָעוֹלָם. צָרִיךְ כָּל אֶחָד לִרְאוֹת שֶׁלֹּא לְהַסְמִיךְ אוֹתָם שֶׁלֹּא לִיתֵּן לָהֶם שׁוּם תֹּקֶף וָעֹז, כִּי הֵם עַצְמָן אֵינָם חַיָּבִים כָּל-כָּךְ כִּי יֵשׁ לָהֶם יֵצֶר הָרָע גָּדוֹל לְהַנְהִיג הָעוֹלָם, אַךְ אֵלּוּ הַנּוֹתְנִים לָהֶם תֹּקֶף וְעֹז וְנִסְמָכִים עַל-יָדָם שֶׁיִּהְיוּ נִקְרָאִים בְּשֵׁם רַבִּי, הֵם עֲתִידִים לִיתִֵּן דִּין וְחֶשְׁבּוֹן.
Train yourself every day to immerse your sharp and logical mind deeply in the enormity of the kindness and the wondrous salvation which the Master of Wonders has performed with us and with all of Israel in our very days — and that He has sent us

בְּזֶה הַזְּמַן אֵין בַּנִּמְצָא שֶׁיִּרְצֶה אֶחָד הִתְנַשְּׂאוּת לְשֵׁם שָׁמַיִם, עַל-כֵּן עַכְשָׁו אָסוּר לִרְדֹּף אַחַר הַהִתְנַשְּׂאוּת, אֶלָּא יִבְרַח מִן הַכָּבוֹד וְהַהִתְנַשְּׂאוּת בְּתַכְלִית בֶּאֱמֶת.
the true Tzadik, perfect in the ultimate perfection beyond which there is no perfection,

אִם הָיָה לָאָדָם יִשּׁוּב הַדַּעַת, הָיָה רוֹאֶה שֶׁכָּל עִנְיְנֵי הָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה הַכֹּל שְׁטוּת וְהֶבֶל, וּבִפְרָט הַתַּאֲוָה שֶׁל כָּבוֹד וּמַנְהִיגוּת לִהְיוֹת מְפֻרְסָם וְלִנְסֹעַ עַל-פְּנֵי הַמְּדִינָה, הַכֹּל הֶבֶל וּרְעוּת רוּחַ, וְהוּא שְׁטוּת גָּדוֹל בֶּאֱמֶת.
utterly clean of sin, with no trace of blemish whatsoever — not even as fine as a hairsbreadth — who draws down

הָרְשָׁעִים וְהַחוֹלְקִים עַל הַצַּדִּיק הֵם בְּחַיֵּיהֶם קְרוּאִים מֵתִים, כִּי אֵין לָהֶם רוּחַ חַיִּים דִקְדֻשָּׁה שֶׁנִּמְשָׁךְ רַק עַל-יְדֵי הַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת.

עִקַּר שֵׁם תַּלְמִיד חָכָם הוּא רַק מִי שֶׁמְּקֹרָב לְהֶחָכָם וְהַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת, כִּי עַל שֵׁם זֶה נִקְרָא תַּלְמִיד חָכָם, שֶׁהוּא תַּלְמִיד שֶׁל הֶחָכָם שֶׁהוּא הַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת. וּלְהִפּוּךְ, עַם הָאָרֶץ נִקְרָא מִי שֶׁלֹּא שִׁמֵּשׁ תַּלְמִיד חָכָם כְּמוֹ שֶׁאָמְרוּ רַבּוֹתֵינוּ זַ"ל. כִּי כְּשֶׁאֵינוֹ מְקֹרָב לְהֶחָכָם וּלְהַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת הוּא בִּכְלַל עַם הָאָרֶץ, כִּי אֵין לוֹ כֹּחַ לְקַבֵּל חָכְמָה שֶׁהוּא הַשָּׂגַת אֱלֹקוּת, אֲפִלּוּ אִם הוּא לַמְדָּן וְחָכָם, וַאֲפִלּוּ אִם יֵשׁ לוֹ מַעֲשִׂים טוֹבִים, כִּי אֶל הַתַּכְלִית הַנִּצְִחִי שֶׁהוּא הַשָּׂגַת אֱלֹקוּת אִי אֶפְשָׁר לָבוֹא כִּי אִם עַל-יְדֵי הַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת וְתַלְמִידָיו וְתַלְמִידֵי תַּלְמִידָיו וְכוּ'.
giving of the Torah, and through this he gives life to and sustains the world even now, at a time when the world is as distant from the Torah as they are — for he finds His G-dliness (Yisburach) even in the most distant places, until all the evil in the world is pushed aside and falls before him, and through this he gives life to all the simple people of the world, and even the nations of the world and all the distant ones who lie in the nethermost depths.
## Segment 11
הַמַּעְתִּיק הַדּוֹרֵשׁ בִּשְׁלוֹמוֹ וּמַעְתִּיר בַּעֲדוֹ תָּמִיד.
The Tzadik is himself the very aspect of the aforementioned hidden lovingkindness, which is able to sustain the world always — even those most distant, to the ultimate degree of distance.
