Segment 1

ב"ה, ד' תִּשְׁרֵי תשכ"ג עִיר הַקֹּדֶשׁ יְרוּשָׁלַיִם.
My dearest heart, Mr. Zalman Shazar — who thinks thoughts and devises plans to make known and to illuminate the light of truth in the world. Which is the light of the true Tzadik — the light of all lights — the aspect of the light of Moshiach, which illuminates upon us the light of the revelation of His G-dliness Yisburach, even in the bitter and most painful darknesses of this generation of darkness. And which shatters and subdues and brings low from the world all the books of the heretics and the researchers that lean toward heresy and apostasy. And all the arrogance and the dominion of the false leaders who cast hatred and enmity between Israel and their Father in Heaven. May Hashem command you with blessing and life.

Segment 2

עַצְמִי וּבְשָׂרִי, הָאוֹחֵז עַצְמוֹ בְּהַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת שֶׁהוּא רוֹפֵא מֻמְחֶה וְנֶאֱמָן, שֶׁיּוֹדֵעַ כָּל הַחֶסְרוֹנוֹת וְהֶחֳלָאִים שֶׁל כָּל אֶחָד, וְיוֹדֵעַ אֵיךְ לַעֲסֹק בִּרְפוּאָתוֹ בִּשְׁלֵמוּת. שָׁלוֹם רַב וּגְמַר חֲתִימָה טוֹבָה.
The days of old age and grey hair have swept upon us, and our strength is weak and scant, and our soul's enemies — which are the fire of desires — have multiplied and prevailed from all sides, almost beyond measure. And our souls are tossed in the depths of the muddy mire of the desires of this world and its vanities, like a stone placed in the cup of a sling. And we walk in the world, wandering and displaced, very confused and shaken — more than a ship lost in the heart of the sea with a storm wind going and storming without any rest or calm. And there is no parable or likeness to describe the enormity of the pity upon us. And we have no counsel or plan — only to run and to fly to the Tzadik, to roll about in mud and mire, and to crawl on hands and feet among serpents and scorpions — until we merit to draw from the holy spirit of the Tzadik, through whom there is no despair in the world at all. And in every place and at every time and at every level — above and below — even the most distant, who have distanced themselves entirely from the holiness of Israel — even so there is no despair at all. For through the very extremity of the power of his great and awesome wisdom, he transforms the very essence of evil to good. Apostasy to desire.

מִכְתָּבְךָ מִיּוֹם כ"ח אֱלוּל תשכ"ב קִבַּלְתִּי בְּצֵרוּף צֵ'יק עַל סַךְ מֵאָה ל"י. רַב תּוֹדוֹת וּתְשׂוּאוֹת חֵן חֵן מֵעִמְקֵי לְבָבִי. מַה מְּאֹד מָתַק לְנַפְשִׁי הַטּוּב וְהַחֶסֶד שֶׁהִגְדַּלְתָּ לַעֲשׂוֹת עִמָּדִי, בִּרְאוֹתִי בָּזֶה שֶׁדִּבְרֵי רַבֵּנוּ זַ"ל עוֹשִׂים רשֶׁם בְּלִבְּךָ, כִּי כָּבֵד וְקָשֶׁה מְאֹד לְקַבֵּל דְּבָרָיו מֵחֲמַת רִבּוּי הַמְּסַכִּים הַמַּבְדִּילִים, וְהַחָכְמוֹת שֶׁל שְׁטוּת וְהֶבֶל שֶׁמְּסַבְּבִים וּמְעַקְּמִים הַלֵּב מְאֹד. מִי יִתֵּן שֶׁיִּכָּנְסוּ בְּלִבֵּנוּ וּבְלֵב כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיַעֲשׂוּ פְּעֻלָּתָם כָּרָאוּי לָבוֹא לְמַה שֶּׁאָנוּ צְרִיכִים לָבוֹא בְּזֶה הָעוֹלָם אֲשֶׁר לְכָךְ נוֹצַרְנוּ.
The essential source of all the heresies and the apostasy of the natural scientists, who strayed to the place where they strayed — is through the blemish of faith in the novelty of the world (emunos chidush ha-olam). Through this blemish they come to all kinds of errors. And the essential subduing of them and nullification of their opinion is through the true Tzadik of very exceedingly great stature — the aspect of Moshe-Moshiach — who drew down Torah in order to illuminate and to reveal the faith in the novelty of the world, and to nullify and uproot the opinions of the natural scientists who deny the novelty of the world.

עַל-יְדֵי צְדָקָה וָחֶסֶד לְהַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת וַעֲנִיִּים הֲגוּנִים - עַל-יְדֵי זֶה מַשְׁלִימִים הַשֵּׂכֶל וְנִתְרוֹמֵם הַמּוֹחִין וְזוֹכִין לִרְאוֹת אוֹר הַצַּדִּיק, וְעַל-יְדֵי זֶה זוֹכֶה לְהַכְנִיעַ הַגּוּף לְגַבֵּי הַנֶּפֶשׁ, הַחֹמֶר לְגַבֵּי הַצּוּרָה, הַסִּכְלוּת לְגַבֵּי הַשֵּׂכֶל. וְיוֹצֵא מֵחשֶׁךְ לְאוֹר, מִבְּהֵמָה לְאָדָם, וְנִתְבַּטְּלִין הַחָכְמוֹת חִיצוֹנִיּוֹת וְזוֹכִין לְהַשָּׂגוֹת אֱלֹקוּת, וּמְבַטֵּל הַדִּין וְהַחשֶׁךְ וּמַמְשִׁיךְ חֲסָדִים בָּעוֹלָם.
The enormity of the awesome might and the power of the true Tzadik, the possessor of power, is the aspect of the rod of strength — which stands with force and firmness within the belly of the swallowing of the sitra achra. Until she is compelled to vomit up her vomit time and again — to the point where even those most distant and most debased, who have already grown old in their wickedness and have become very abominable and very material, and have been swallowed into the belly of the sitra achra — and their hope and their expectation has virtually vanished — they come and draw close to Hashem Yisburach. And many new neighbors are added to the holy gathering of the Tzadik — and through this specifically, a wondrous repair is made every time, until in the end everything will be completely repaired.
