ב"ה, הוֹשַׁעְנָא רַבָּא תשכ"ד.

To the honor of the President of Israel, Mr. S.Z. Shazar

To the honor of the President of Israel, Mr. S.Z. Shazar — who remembers, in every place where he may be, the magnitude of the preciousness of his soul — that in its very root it comes from a very holy and exalted place, and because of this, the truth entered his heart like a burning fire, and he was aroused to bind himself to the true Tzadik. And he has placed all his mind and his soul to understand and to attain the awesome wonders of his Torah, which he drew down from a very high and most supernal, awesome and most exalted place that no person ever received from him before — through which all come to Hashem Yisburach and recognize Him. May Hashem multiply his days upon his kingdom, so that the light of the true Tzadik will open in the world, until all the distant ones convert and return to Hashem Yisburach. And may he merit to come together with all of Israel to the resting place and the inheritance, and the city of G-d rebuilt upon its mound.

לִכְבוֹד בַּת עֵינִי, הַצּוֹפֶה וּמִסְתַּכֵּל עַל הָאֱמֶת הַצָּרוּף וְהַמְזֻקָּק וְרוֹאֶה מֵרָחוֹק אֲמִתַּת הָאֱמֶת בִּרְאִיָּה גְּמוּרָה וּבָרָה כַּחַמָּה, וְכוֹסֵף וּבוֹעֵר בְּחֵשֶׁק נִמְרָץ וְרָצוֹן חָזָק לִפְרֹעַ בִּזְרִיזוּת הַחוֹב הַמּוּטָל עָלָיו, לְרַחֵם עַל עַם ה' וְעַל כָּל מְקוֹמוֹת הַחִיצוֹנִים וְהָרְחוֹקִים וְהַנִּדָּחִים מְאֹד, לְהַכְנִיס כָּל הַלְּבָבוֹת תַּחַת כַּנְפֵי הַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת שַׂר הָעוֹלָם, הַחוֹפֵף וְסוֹכֵךְ עֲלֵיהֶם תָּמִיד לְשָׁמְרָם מִכָּל רָע וּלַהֲקִימָם מִנְּפִילָתָם שֶׁנָּפְלוּ פְּלָאִים לְעִמְקֵי עִמְקֵי תְּהוֹם תַּחְתִּיּוֹת, שֶׁהוּא שְׁטוּת הַכְּפִירוֹת וֶאֱמוּנוֹת שֶׁל שֶׁקֶר וְהֶבֶל שֶׁבַּהֶבֶל, וּלְהַעֲלוֹתָם מַעְלָה מַעְלָה אֶל הַקְּדֻשָּׁה, לְתַכְלִית הָעֲלִיָּה, וְלַהֲפֹךְ זְדוֹנוֹת לִזְכֻיּוֹת, וּמִכְּפִירָה לֶאֱמוּנָה קְדוֹשָׁה בְּרוּרָה וִישָׁרָה, עַד שֶׁיָּבוֹא הָעוֹלָם לִידֵי תִּקּוּנוֹ בִּשְׁלֵמוּת. חַיִּים אֲרֻכִּים חַיִּים טוֹבִים אֲמִתִּיִּים.

EN:
Know, my brother — that Rabbainu za.tza.l. is a true guide for everyone — from the loftiest heights to the very ultimate of the oppressed souls. Small and great alike — he benefits all.

Our soul has yearned greatly for the pleasantness of his sayings,

Segment 3
HE:
הִשַּׂגְתִּי הַתְּרוּמָה בְּסַךְ מֵאָה ל"י, רֹב תּוֹדוֹת וּבְרָכוֹת וְחֵן חֵן מִקֶּרֶב לֵב עָמֹק. שָׂמַח לִבִּי וַתָּגֵל נַפְשִׁי בִּישׁוּעַת נַפְשְׁךָ שֶׁעָשָׂה ה' עִמְּךָ פִּלְאֵי פְּלָאוֹת כָּאֵלֶּה, חֲסָדִים טוֹבִים נִפְלָאִים כָּאֵלֶּה בְּהַהִתְקַשְּׁרוּת שֶׁנִּתְקַשַּׁרְתָּ בְּקִשְׁרֵי קְשָׁרִים בְּאַהֲבָה עַזָּה וַעֲצוּמָה אֶל הַצַּדִּיק הָאֱמֶת וַאֲנָשָׁיו הָאֲמִתִּיִּים הַכְּשֵׁרִים שֶׁבַּדּוֹר, עַד אֲשֶׁר כָּל מֵימוֹת שֶׁבָּעוֹלָם לֹא יוּכְלוּ לְכַבּוֹתָהּ. אַשְׁרֵי חֶלְקְךָ אַשְׁרֵי גּוֹרָלְךָ מַה טּוֹב חֵלֶק חֶלְקְךָ וּמַה נָּעִים גּוֹרָלְךָ.

Our soul has longed for the awesome lights of his Torah teachings,

How sweet the beloved pleasantness of his wonders,

Segment 4
HE:
הָעוֹלָם רָאוּי שֶׁיִּתְמֵהוּ עַל הָאַהֲבָה שֶׁבֵּינֵינוּ.

EN:
His words are faithful, cherished and beloved forever — to all the children of Israel, for all his generations.

Rabbainu za.tza.l. said: How is it possible that they should not dispute against me — since I walk upon a new path that no person has ever walked upon, not even the Ba'al Shem Tov, and not any created being. Even though it is a very ancient path — nonetheless it is completely new.

Rabbainu za.tza.l. told a wondrous self-praise about the matter of his life, and about the disgrace of the life of the world — that they do not think about their purpose. And the principle is that the essential life is the true life, which is true wisdom. And the essential wisdom is to strive to know and to recognize Hashem Yisburach Who is the Life of life. And every person — according to his closeness to this, so is his life truly life. And in the opposite direction, the opposite. For apart from this, everything is vanity and there is no life whatsoever. But the life that he za.tza.l. attained was of a most supernal and most wondrous level, the like of which no person has ever tasted. Fortunate is one who merits to feel even a small flickering from the pleasantness of his life — that he lived a long life, truly a good life. As is understood from the story of the Seven Beggars — see there.

HE:
מִכַּמָּה סִבּוֹת הֻכְרַחְתִּי לְסַיֵּם, בְּשָׁלוֹם וְחַיִּים וְשִׂמְחַת הַחַג הַקָּדוֹשׁ הַקּוֹרֵא וּמַכְרִיז עַל חִדּוּשׁ הָעוֹלָם שֶׁהַבּוֹרֵא בָּרָא אֶת הָעוֹלָם מֵאַיִן לְיֵשׁ, שֶׁיֵּשׁ אֱלֹקִים שַׁלִּיט וּמוֹשֵׁל בַּשָּׁמַיִם מִמַּעַל וְעַל הָאָרֶץ מִתָּחַת.

EN:
When a person is expelled from the Garden of Eden — meaning, whenever he wishes to do any matter of holiness, which is the aspect of entry into the Garden of Eden, they expel him and confuse him — then the essential repair is that he stand himself beside faith. That even so he believes that Hashem Yisburach rules over everything and His hand is uppermost, and in the end everything will be completed as He desires. For there is teshuvah in the world. And even though he is now very far from teshuvah — on the contrary, they provoke him until he blemishes, Heaven forbid, every day more, Heaven forbid — even so, in any case he believes that there is such a Tzadik in the world who has the power to repair everything through his counsels, which are without limit. And therefore he must stand himself beside the Tzadik who reveals and polishes the faith.

The transcriber and arranger — who always mentions him for good, and awaits his salvation and his success in this world and the next, and supplicates for him and for his household.

הַמַּעְתִּיק, אוֹהֲבוֹ לָנֶצַח וּמִתְפַּלֵּל בַּעֲדוֹ תָּמִיד, בְּכָל עֵת וּבְכָל שָׁעָה.

All the more so when the Tzadik shows a pleasant face and brings us close with an immense love without end — certainly we are obligated to love him, to praise him and to glorify him, and to make known and to publicize his name in the world, and to engage in his affairs, and to spread his springs outward to all the distant places that are external to holiness — in order to benefit all the children of Israel from generation to generation.
