S.Z. Shazar To the honor of the President of Israel — my heart and my flesh — Mr. S.Z. Shazar, who is ready to go through fire and water for the true truth that is beloved to him in bonds of love without end and without limit. And who has merited to be a faithful servant to the Tzadik — the true King over all Israel for generations of eternity. Who revealed wondrous and awesome novelties, for which no tongue in the world is capable of telling the power, the loftiness, the sublimity, the stature, the height, the holiness, and the might — through which he gathers and brings close even all the distant ones and the utter wicked to Hashem Yisburach. And he reveals His G-dliness and His kingship eye to eye to all who come into the world. How good and how pleasant is your portion. Peace and all good. On the occasion of your completing seventy-four years of age — I am hereby sending you my blessing and the gift of my heart: the long life of the Beggar who is completely blind to this world and has no looking whatsoever into this world at all — for the entire world does not amount even to the blink of an eye in his sight, etc.

And the good life of the Beggar who was deaf — who boasted of the immensity of his distance from this world, to the very ultimate degree. And he is completely deaf to hearing the sounds of this world — for they are all deficiencies. For the entire world does not rise in his sight even to the hearing of the sound of their deficiencies, etc. Look well into the awesome story of the Seven Beggars, and you will stand trembling and astonished to see this light.

## Segment 4

Rabbainu za.tza.l. spoke much about the matter of life — that everything is called life in the eyes of the world, but in truth the essential life is when one merits to renew one's days, to begin to draw close to Hashem Yisburach — to serve Hashem freshly every time. And not to fall into the old age of the sitra achra — as though he has already grown old in his sins and in his habits with which he is accustomed, to the point where it seems impossible to emerge from them. Only let him strengthen himself to begin to live anew every time in the service of Hashem, and not fall because of any thing, and not let his spirit be shortened from any confusions and weakness of mind — as though hope has vanished, Heaven forbid, because of the evil deeds he has committed until now.

For he must not look upon all this at all — for there is no despair in the world at all. And whatever his situation — even if he has already fallen without measure — even so there is no despair in the world at all.
