To the honor of the President of Israel — the pleasant one of my heart — Mr. S.Z. Shazar, who humbles himself and casts away his honor from before him in every matter that pertains to the benefit of the building and the affairs of the true leader-Tzadik, who possesses the power of attraction — to draw and to bring close the entire world to Hashem Yisburach. Abundant peace.

My beloved, my brother — my soul and my heart! Do not be slothful in the mitzvah that Hashem has sent to you for your own benefit. And be alacritous to perform it for the sake of Heaven without delay. Strengthen yourself to seek wisdom from the truly wise one — the great wonder of all the generations. And hear and hearken to his words and his counsels. By day and by night his memory shall not depart from you — and always place him before your eyes. Be a good friend to the truly G-d-fearing — attach yourself to their company always, and especially on the approaching holy Rosh Hashana. Level the path of your feet to straighten them in the way of truth — and from the path of falsehood flee and distance yourself.

All things are upon the earth — as we see with direct sense perception that everything grows from the earth, and all things and all creatures go and rest upon the earth. And it is impossible for them to cease and to become distanced from the earth, except through a compelling force — meaning that there is something that compels the thing and takes it from its place upon the earth and distances it from it. And according to the strength of the compelling force, so is the thing distanced from the earth. And after that, when the compelling force ceases, the thing returns to the earth. For example — when a person throws something upward, through his power he compels the thing and separates it from the earth. And according to his power, so does he compel the thing and cast it higher upward. And then when his power — which is the compelling force — ceases, the thing returns and falls back to the earth. For the earth has an attractive power (koach ha-moshech) — it draws all things to itself. For if not, they could not remain upon it — for they would have been fitting to fall off it, since it is spherical and all the people of the world stand around it. But since it has an attractive power, therefore when the compelling force ceases, the thing returns and falls downward to the earth. And the closer the thing comes to the attractive power of the earth, the more swiftly it flies and falls downward.

## Segment 5

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

</div>

And the true Tzadik is in the aspect of earth (afar — dust/earth) — and all things stand upon him. And he has the attractive power — to draw all things to himself. For this Tzadik is the sole unique individual in the world who is the foundation of the world (yesod olam), from whom all things are drawn. For this one unique Tzadik in the world is humble and lowly and places himself as dust — in the aspect of "and I am but dust and ashes" [Genesis 18:27]. And therefore he is the foundation of the world — meaning the aspect of earth, upon which all things rest. And behold — it would have been fitting that all people be drawn to this Tzadik who is in the aspect of earth, who possesses the attractive power. But through the compelling force they are cut off and distanced from him — meaning there are people who through their speech and their deeds compel people and cut them off from being drawn after the true Tzadik who is in the aspect of earth — the aspect of the attractive power. And according to the strength of the compelling force, so is one distanced from the Tzadik. And afterwards, when the compelling force ceases, the person will return and draw himself, and return to the dust — to the Tzadik, who possesses the attractive power.

All the honor that every person in the world possesses — from the smallest to the greatest — they receive only from this Tzadik who is in the aspect of earth, from whom everything is drawn. For all the honor and the greatness exists only with this Tzadik — and all receive from him. For in the place of lowliness and smallness — there all honor and greatness dwell. As it is written: "I dwell with the crushed and the lowly of spirit" [Isaiah 57:15].
