Shazar, who graces and honors with all kinds of grace and splendor the truly faithful guardians of the city (noturai karta), who love him with a very exceptional love — because through the greatness of the preciousness of the nobility of his soul he has merited to discern and to understand the true truth, which is a new secret weapon — which defeats and destroys the falsehood and the father of all fathers of impurity of false faiths and external wisdoms, which corrupt and destroy the world with heresy and apostasy and bring about all the troubles and the evils in the world, Heaven have mercy. לִבִּי בְּקִרְבִּי יִשְׂמַח וְיִתְעַנֵּג בְּתַעֲנוּגִים גְּדוֹלִים עַל בִּרְכָתְךָ הַנֶּאֱמָנָה וְעַל אַהֲבַת לִבְּךָ וְעַל גֹּדֶל חַסְדְּךָ שֶׁהוֹסַפְתָּ עָלַי כָּל-כָּךְ בְּהַסַּךְ שְׁלשׁ מֵאוֹת ל"י מִיּוֹם ח' בְּנִיסָן, תְּשׁוּאוֹת חֵן חֵן לְךָ, יְשַׁלֵּם ה' פָּעֳלְךָ הַטּוֹב. עֵינַי וְלִבִּי אֶל אָבִינוּ שֶׁבַּשָּׁמַיִם נְשׂוּאוֹת בִּתְפִלָּה וּבַקָּשָׁה שֶׁיְּחָנֶנְךָ וְיַצְלִיחֲךָ וְיִשְׁמֹר וְיִנְצֹר וְיַצִּיל אוֹתְךָ וְאֶת בֵּיתְךָ מִכָּל מִינֵי חֳלָאִים וּגְזֵרוֹת קָשׁוֹת, וְיַבְרִיא וִירַפֵּא אֶתְכֶם בַּגּוּף וּבַנֶּפֶשׁ לְאֹרֶךְ יָמִים וְשָׁנִים טוֹבִים וּבְרִיאִים, אָמֵן.

My heart, my dearest. For a long time it has been very difficult for me to engage in the work of writing — for the illness of old age has intensified greatly upon me. My eyes have grown dim, my hands have weakened, my knees have faltered, and my strength is drained and crumbling from day to day. Hashem knows and is witness — that you dwell in my heart always. And my heart is broken and crushed and filled with bitterness — that I do not merit to give you life and to gladden your soul with the words of the truly wise leader, who comforts and gladdens and gives life to the soul of all living for generations of eternity.

כָּל עִקַּר יְצִיאַת מִצְרַיִם, וְכָל הָאוֹתוֹת וְהַמּוֹפְתִים הַנּוֹרָאִים אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה ה' יִתְבָּרַךְ עִם אֲבוֹתֵינוּ וְעִמָּנוּ מִיּוֹם יְצִיאַת מִצְרַיִם עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה בְּכָל דּוֹר וָדוֹר, הַכֹּל בִּשְׁבִיל הָאֱמוּנָה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה, כְּדֵי לִזְכּוֹת לֶאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁזֶּה עִקַּר הַכֹּל וְזֶה עִקַּר עֲבוֹדַת הָאָדָם כָּל יְמֵי חַיָּיו, וּבִשְׁבִיל זֶה בָּא הָאָדָם לָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, כְּדֵי לְהַכִּיר אֶת ה', שֶׁזֶּהוּ הַתַּכְלִית מִכָּל הַתַּכְלִיתִין.

With all my heart and soul I express and set before you my faithful blessing — the blessing of "Blessed be he who has come" to your very dear and greatly honored brother — for Hashem has greatly acted with him and granted him merit to come and to tread upon holy ground, in our beloved land and our vitality — our resting place and our hope, the place of faith and the wisdom of holiness, the place prepared to become wise and to know the truth, the place from which the light of truth shall go forth to the entire world, the place upon which the eyes of all Israel are lifted. May he receive blessing from Hashem, and may He complete with him through the wonders of His kindnesses that which is for his eternal benefit.

הַמִּתְפַּלֵּל תָּמִיד בְּעַד שְׁלוֹמְךָ וְטוֹבְתְךָ.

EN:
A mazal tov blessing for your seventy-fifth birthday. May Hashem add upon you and upon your household good and long years — new years, faithful and fresh — years of blessing and success in all that you set your hand to, for the benefit of our people and our land. Years in which you merit to shatter all the concealments and the obstacles and distractions and impediments from drawing close to the truth. Years in which you merit to implant in your heart and in the heart of all the people the light of the true Tzadik — who is the essential vitality and the existence of the world, through whom the world will be entirely renewed. For he will transform the entire world from falsehood to truth, from utter heresy to complete faith, from darkness to great light — speedily in our days, Amen.
