לפעמים על ידי שפלות, שאדם משפיל את עצמו או אחרים משפילים אותו, על ידי זה מבטלין מעליו גזרת מיתה.
על ידי אמת יזכה לענוה.
על ידי ענוה תפילתך נשמעת, וכמו הקריב כל הקרבנות.
על ידי עונה, מוסיפין לו גדולה על גדולתו.
על ידי ענוה מאריך ימים.
על ידי ענוה אין מדקדקין אחר מעשיו.
על ידי ענוה, נתבטל פחד האוייבים.

Through truth one merits to humility. Through humility your prayer is heard — as though one has brought all the sacrifices. Through conjugal relations, additional greatness is added to his greatness. Through humility one lengthens days. Through humility one's deeds are not examined. Through humility the fear of enemies is nullified. Through humility the dispute and the sufferings are nullified. Through humility all are with him in peace. Through humility grace comes. Through humility — one grows great, and also does not fall from one's level. Through humility — the Holy Blessed One remembers him. Through humility — the Holy Blessed One does his desire. The world endures only through one who makes himself as nothing.
