לפעמים השכחה היא טובה גדולה מאד. כי יש הרבה דברים שצריכים לשכחם ולהעבירם מדעתו, כדי שלא יתבלבל ושלא יפול ח"ו בדעתו על ידי זה לגמרי ח"ו, וזהו עצה עמוקה לזכור את התורה ולקיימה.
אם תעיין תביט בעין השכל האמת בנפלאות נוראות גדולות המעשיות הקדושות, תעמוד מרעיד ומשתוממם מגדולת הבורא יתברך ומגדולת הצדיק האמיתי, הזקן שבזקנים, הגדול במעלה עליונה על כל הצדיקים, על כל בחירי הצדיקים (הזקן שבזקנים), שהתפאר שהוא זקן מאד, ועדיין הוא יניק מאד ולא התחיל עדיין לחיות כלל וכו'.

Sometimes forgetfulness is a very great good.
