עוצם הצרה שבדורות הללו - שמתגברים חכמי הטבע, ומרבים ספרים של הבל ואפיקורסות שהם כנגד התורה הקדושה, והעיקר כנגד התורה שבעל-פה, ומתלוצצים מכל ספרי אמת, מכל חכמת התלמוד והזוהר הקדוש וכו', רוצים להפוך מהפך אל הפך, לבטל, להשכיח ולבטל התורה. ועיקר המשכת הנס והישועה הוא על ידי הצדיק האמת, שהוא עיקרן של כל הצדיקי אמת, שעוקר בנין בתיהם, אשר ספריו הקדושים עוקרים דעותיהם הרעות ונמחין מלב ישראל, ומאירין ביותר אור התורה הקדושה על ידי ריבוי ספריו הקדושים ותלמידיו הקדושים.

The immensity of the trouble in these generations — that the natural scientists strengthen themselves. And they multiply books of vanity and apostasy that are against the holy Torah — and especially against the Oral Torah. And they mock all the books of truth — all the wisdom of the Talmud and the holy Zohar, etc. They wish to invert inversion upon inversion — to nullify, to cause forgetting and to nullify the Torah. And the essential drawing down of the miracle and the salvation is through the true Tzadik — who is the essential one of all the true Tzadikim. Who uproots the building of their houses. For his holy books uproot their evil opinions — and they are erased from the hearts of Israel. And they illuminate greatly the light of the holy Torah — through the multitude of his holy books and his holy disciples.
