## Segment 1

כמה וכמה צריך זה האדם העלוב לסבול בזה העולם כל ימי חייו. אין רגע בלי פגע! כמה וכמה מיני יסורים ודחקות ודאגות רבות, שונות בלי שיעור, עוברים על כל אחד בכל יום. וכן מתנהג מעולם.
כי "אדם לעמל יולד, קצר ימים ושבע רוגז". אך צריכין להאמין, ומעט יכולים לראות, כי מידה טובה מרובה, כי אין שיעור להשינויים הנעשים בכל יום ובכל שנה ובכל חודש ובכל עת, והשם יתברך עושה גדולות עד אין חקר ונפלאות עצומות עד אין מספר בכל יום ויום, בלי שיעור וערך.
האדם צריך עצות עמוקות בכל יום, דהיינו לצעוק ממעמקים, מעומקא דליבא, עד אשר יחתור וימשיך עצות עמוקות המתחדשים בכל יום...עת, בבחינת "גולה עמוקות מיני חושך", שעל ידם נמשך אמונה.
ויותר מכולם, הצרה הגדולה מהכל הוא, מה שרובם נפלו בדעתם מאד ביאוש גמור, שאי אפשר לו עוד לחשוב על התכלית, ואי אפשר להגביהו מכמה טעמים, והעיקר - מחמת המחלוקת הגדולה אשר עלינו וכו', שאינם יכולים מחמת זה לקבל ולינוק מצוף דבש (נועם) תורתו הנוראה, שמחיה ומשיב כל הנפשות הנפולות.
תזכור היטב היטב חסדי ה' ונפלאותיו אשר עשה עימנו, כי אין אנו יודעים עד היכן צריכין להתחזק, כמו שצעק רבינו ז"ל בקול עמוק וחזק מאד: "גיוואלד! זייט אייך ניט מייאש!" (אוי למי שמתיאש) "קיין יאוש איז גאהר ניט פאר אנדין!" (אין שום יאוש בעולם כלל!)

How greatly must this wretched person bear in this world all the days of his life. There is not a single moment without a mishap! How many and how many kinds of sufferings and distress and many and varied worries without measure — pass over each and every one every single day. And so the world has always conducted itself.


## Segment 2

For "man is born to toil — short of days and full of turmoil" [Job 5:7, 14:1]. But one must believe — and somewhat one can see — that the good measure is greater than the evil. For there is no measure to the changes that are made every day and every year and every month and every moment. And Hashem Yisburach performs great deeds beyond all reckoning — and immense wonders beyond all number — every single day — without measure and without worth.


## Segment 3

The person needs deep counsels every day — namely to cry out from the depths — from the very depths of the heart. Until he burrows and draws down deep counsels that renew themselves every day… moment — in the aspect of "who reveals deep things out of the darkness" [Job 12:22]. Through which faith is drawn down.


## Segment 4

And more than all — the greatest trouble of all — is that most of them have fallen greatly in their minds in utter despair. To the point where it is no longer possible for him to think about the eternal purpose — and it is impossible to elevate him — for several reasons. And the essential thing — because of the great dispute against us, etc. — so that they cannot because of this receive and suckle from the sweet nectar (pleasantness) of his awesome Torah — which gives life to and restores all the fallen souls.


## Segment 5

Remember well, well — the kindnesses of Hashem and His wonders that He performed with us. For we do not know to what extent we must strengthen ourselves — as Rabbainu za.l. cried out with a very deep and strong voice: "Givald! Zait aich nit meyaish!" (Woe to one who despairs!) "Kein yeyush iz gor nit faran din!" (There is no despair in the world at all!)
