הבעל דבר אורב על האדם תמיד, והעיקר על אחריתו וסופו, מחמת שהאדם כל מה שמזקין יותר הוא צריך להתקרב לשורשו ותיקונו יותר, ועל כן מתגבר עליו מלחמת היצר ביותר. ואי אפשר לדלג ולקפוץ על הגיהנום שהוא זה העולם, כי אם על ידי כוח הצדיק האמת וספריו ועצותיו העמוקות והתמימות מאד לכל אחד ואחד המקשרים נפשו להשם יתברך כחותם על ליבו, כמו שאמר רבינו זכר צדיק לברכה בזה הלשון: "אני אין לי מה לעשות בזה העולם כלל, כי בשבילי אינו צריך לעשות כלל, רק באתי להעולם לקרב נפשות ישראל להשם יתברך".
לכן הנני פונה אליך מעמקי לבבי, להעמידך על החוב הקדוש המוטל עליך, לחשוב מחשבות עמוקות להתגבר ולהתאמץ ברצון חזק מאד להגות בספריו הקדושים בכל יום ויום ולראות אורות החדשות הנוראות שבהם, עד שיכנס הריחות טובות שבהם בלבבך לקיום ולמעשה, שזה העיקר דעיקר התכלית.
