יש ימי הילדות והבחרות, ימי עליה וימי עמידה, וימי ירידה, שהם ימי הזקנה והשיבה. ובהכרח שיעבור על האדם, בכל ימי חייו, הרבה מיני עיתים שונים - עיתים לטובה, עיתים לרעה, פעמים הוא בבחינת עליה ופעמים הוא בבחינת ירידה. והצדיק האמת ממשיך אורו של משיח על ישראל, ומאיר בכל אחד ואחד, שיוכל להתחזק ולשאר על עמדו בכל הזמנים והעיתים העוברים עליו, באופן שלא יפול ולא יתרחק מהשם יתברך לעולם. ומי שאוחז את עצמו בכח הצדיק, אין שום מצר שירחיקו מהשם יתברך, כי מכולם ישוב אליו יתברך.
עתה, בדורות האחרונים האלו, כשמתגבר האדם בתנועה קלה כחוט השערה לשוב להשם יתברך, הוא יקר אצל השם יתברך הרבה מעבודות גדולות של דורות הראשונים.

There are the days of childhood and youth — days of ascent and days of standing. And days of descent — which are the days of old age and hoariness. Sometimes he is in the aspect of ascent — and sometimes he is in the aspect of descent. And the true Tzadik draws the light of Moshiach upon Israel. And illuminates within each and every one — that he is able to strengthen himself and to remain at his post — in all the times and moments that pass over him. In such a way that he never fall and never become distanced from Hashem Yisburach. And one who holds himself with the power of the Tzadik — no distress whatsoever can distance him from Hashem Yisburach. For from all of them he will return to Him Yisburach.
