לכבוד ידידי, שמחת לבי, נשיא ישראל, מחמד עיני, השוכן בלבי תמיד, מר שניאור זלמן שזר, שהתחזק לקבל חכמה ואזר אזור במתניו לחגור עצמו בים החכמה באמונה ברורה, וחפץ לדרוך בנתיבי החכמה של ה"נחל נובע", אב לכל החכמים, שיכול לירד לעומק הנפילה והירידה של כל אחד ואחד, המאיר עיני ישראל איך לצאת משטף מימי המבול של כפירות ואמונות של שטות והבל ושוא ושקר. בעבור זה חפץ בו ה', וסבב סיבות נפלאות, עד שנתבסס ונתבסם החיבור והיחוד שלנו, אשר מזה נולד לנו בן.
