נא אחי זכור אל תשכח בכל עת עוצם החסדים והרחמים הנפלאים שחמל עלינו השם יתברך וכו', אשר לא יספיקו כל ימינו להודות ולהלל על זה, שכל תשוקתנו ונחמתנו הוא אור הצדיק המאיר לכל והנחמה של הכל.
העיקר דעיקר הוא גודל כוח של זקן דקדושה, סבא דסבין, שאנו נשענים עליו. חזק אחי חזק כי ה' איתך עימך ואצלך. אל תירא ואל תחת! אני צריך לעורר ולחזק אותך בכל כוחי דברי אמת, שתזכה להכניס ראשך בראש השנה בתוך הקיבוץ הקדוש של הצדיק.
כל עיקר המחלוקת והקטגוריא הגדולה שעל הצדיק האמת הוא מחמת זה, שרבינו הגדול זכר צדיק לברכה עוסק להחיות מתים ופגרים ממש, שנפלו בדעתם מריבוי עוונותיהם העצומים, כפגרים ממש. הצדיק בכוחו הגדול עוסק בתיקונם ובהצלתם. אבל מה לנו בזה? ילך כל אחד בדרכו, ואנחנו בחסדו הגדול הנפלא, נקיים "אחזתיו ולא ארפנו עוד" וכו'. חזק וחזק ושמח נפשך בכל עת, במה שאתה (זוכה) חפץ להיות נמנה עימנו בראש השנה הבא עלינו לטובה, האיום והנורא מאד, (וקיויתי לה' שתוציא מכוח אל הפועל). וצריכים להכין עצמינו על ראש השה הקדוש, האיום והנורא מאד.
ימי אלול כבר התחילו, ימים הנוראים הקדושים ממשמשים לבוא, וצריכים לפשפש במעשיו ולדרוש ולחתור דרך לתשובה, כל אחד ממקום אשר הוא שם, והעיקר צריכים להתחזק ברצונות וכיסופים טובים, בהתחזקות גדול ובעקשנות גדול בהרצון, ולהאמין בעצמו שעדיין הטוב שבו חזק מאד מאד; אף על פי שפגמנו בו כמו שפגמנו, אף על פי כן, מים רבים לא יוכלו לכ...[בות] לשטוף את הנקודות טובות שזכינו לחטוף, בזה הצל עובר, כי הכל גנוז וצפון, חתום ומשומר אצל הצדיק האמיתי, ובכוחו הגדול עדיין יש לנו תקוה לכל טוב אמיתי.
אנו צריכים לישועה ורחמים רבים מאד מאד (בכל יום, עד אשר) שנזכה להיות כרצונו יתברך באמת, ולצאת ממצולות ים, מ"יון מצולה ואין מעמד", אשר מתפשט בזה העולם בפרט בדורות הללו, באחרית הימים, בסוף הגלות האחרון. זאת נחמתי בעניי, זה חלקי מכל עמלו [עמלי], מה שכבר הכנסת [הכנסתי] בך מעט אור כזה, אור הצדיק האמת, אור האורות, אור צח ומצוחצח דלא אית מאן דקריבא בה, אשרי החוסה בצילו! עלינו להזכיר עצמנו בכל פעם את כל הטוב אשר גמל עימנו, שזכינו להסתופף בצל קדוש ונורא ונשגב כזה!

The entire essential dispute and the great accusation against the true Tzadik comes from this: that Rabbainu Hagadol, may the memory of the righteous one be for a blessing, labors to give life to the dead and the truly corpse-like — who have fallen in their minds from the multitude of their immense sins, like actual corpses. We need salvation and very, very abundant mercy — every day — until we merit to be as He desires Yisburach in truth. And to go out from the depths of the sea — from the "miry clay without a foothold" [Psalms 69:3] — which spreads in this world, especially in these generations, in the latter days, at the end of the last exile. This is my consolation in my affliction — this is my portion from all my labor: what I have already implanted within you — a small amount of such a light — the light of the true Tzadik, the light of all lights — a pure and lustrous light of which none draws near to it. Fortunate is one who takes shelter in his shadow!
