נהפך ליבי בקרבי ונתקלקל ונהרס ונשבר לשברי שברים עד היסוד בלי שיעור, לא עליכם, ואני נאנח ובוכה מרה על האבדה הגדולה שאבדתי עם פטירת אשתי, עליה השלום, הצדקת, תהי נשמתה צרורה בצרור החיים. אני מתנחם רק במעשיה הטובים שזכתה לעשות כל ימי חייה, אשר אין לספר ואין לשער גודל אצילות נפשה ונשמתה...במסירות נפשה.
אחי יקירי, נפשי ולבבי! בטח תסלח לי בלב שלם על שלא עניתי לך על מכתבך היקר לי מפז ומפנינים, שכולו דיבורים קדושים אמיתיים שנכתבו מלב עמוק, מתוך חמימות ליבך הבוער כגחלי אש להתקרב להשם יתברך ותורתו הקדושה. אשריך שזכית לכך! אתמול התקשרנו עם מר ביננשטוק במקום עבודתך, ואמר שכבר עברת לפנסיה מתחילת החודש, ושמחתי מאד בהבשורה טובה שכזו בשמעי זאת, כי עכשיו תהיה בן חורין לעסוק לעבוד ה' בתורה ותפילה.
