לכבוד נשיא ישראל, חמדת ליבי ועטרת ראשי, מר שניאור זלמן שזר, הנושא את נפשו אל החכמה הנוראה אל המעשיות התורות והתפילות של הנחל נובע שהבטיח לנו שעל ידו לא תשתכח תורה מישראל. יברכך ה' מציון בשנה טובה ומבורכה בחיים טובים ארוכים בריאים ונעימים.
חלחלה ורעדה אחזתני ונדכיתי עד מאד מרוב צער ומרירות ליבי אשר עד שמים יגיע, בראותי כי אחרי כל הטובות ופלאות גדולות אשר הפליא ועשה אדון הנפלאות עמנו להודיענו מאור החדש כזה, פלא נורא כזה, העולה על כל הפלאות שבכל דור, של כל הדורות, להחיותנו בדור העני הזה...
חזק ואמץ ושמח נפשך מאד במה שזכית לידע ולהאמין בהמנהיג האמת, נחל נובע, אשר בגודל כוחו הנורא לא יעזוב ה' אותך, לא בעלמא הדין ולא בעלמא דאתי. כי הוא הולך לפנינו, ואמר קודם הסתלקותו לעלא "אז איך גייע פאר אייך, וואס האט איהר צו זארגין!" [מאחר שאני הולך לפניכם מה לכם לדאוג]. אשרינו שבאנו לעולם בדור הזה, שנתגלה בו אור האורות, פלא פלאות כזה, שהוא כל עיקר יסוד ושורש חיותנו ותקותנו בזה ובבא.

Be strong and courageous — and gladden your soul greatly — in having merited to know and to believe in the true leader — the Nachal Noavaya. For through the immensity of his awesome power — Hashem will not abandon you — neither in this world nor in the World to Come. For he goes before us. And said before his most awesome passing above: "Az ich gey far aich — vos hot ir tzu zorgin!" [Since I go before you — what do you have to worry about!] Fortunate are we — that we have come into the world in this generation — in which the light of all lights has been revealed — such a wonder of wonders. Which is the entire essential foundation and root of our vitality and our hope — in this world and the next.
