דַּע כִּי יַעֲקֹב אָבִינוּ כְּשֶׁשָּׁלַח אֶת בָּנָיו לְיוֹסֵף, שָׁלַח עִמָּהֶם נִגּוּן שֶׁל אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל, (עַיֵּן פְּנִים דְּבָרִים נִפְלָאִים):

Money comes from the fallen wealth of the prophets. For all the prophets were wealthy [Nedarim 38]. And when prophecy came upon the prophet — he was like a madman — as Rashi explains: ""and he prophesied"" — ""and he acted wild"" [I Samuel 18:10]. And therefore all the great wealthy men are almost literally mad in their conduct. For through money — complete madness is made in them.
