ב"ה יום ג' ו' לעשי"ת פיעה"ק ירושלים תובב"א שלום וברכה וגח"ט אל מע"כ ידידי הנעלה נפשי ולבבי וכו' וכו' מוה"ר ישראל בער נ"י אחדשה"ט הנה הייתי אתמול אצל אחיך ואמר לי כי נחמן לקח את כסף שלו ונסע וגם ממנו לקח ב' שלינג. והיום בשוק ראיתי את נחמן ואמר לי כי תמול האט ער אן גווארין דעם אטו והיום נוסע וכבר קיבל קרטע (הוא הפסיד את האוטו והיום נוסע וכבר קיבל כרטיס). והנה אחי יקירי הבע"ד רוקד ועדיין לא לקחתי עצמי לעבודת השם ורודף אותי מכל הצדדים ואעפי"כ אינני מייאש עצמי והנני מחכה עדיין אולי יבא היום העת להתחיל בעבודת השם וכן תעשה גם אתה. והנה מאד אני רוצה לעשות לי סוכה מיוחדת וצריך לזה כסף וטרחה ה' יעזור לי לזה. 
יותר אין הזמן מסכים ממני ידידך מצפה לשלומך וטובתך שמואל הלוי הורוויץ 
נא לזכור בענין תפילין דר"ת שלי שהנחתים אצל ציון הק' ולדבר עם סנדיר טראוויץ ואמו ור' דוד אתרוג מענין הדפסה ולהראותם הכוכבי אור. 
נא ונא להרבות רחמים עבורי באלו הימים ובפרט על יום כפור במירון אצל ציון התא"ל זיע"א עבורי וב"ב ואבי שיחי' נא ונא
