"And for all the mighty hand and for all the great awe which Moshe did before the eyes of all Israel." [Devarim 34:12]

I. 248 Positive Commandments — Strength to the Shechina

"The mighty hand" — these are the 248 positive commandments [mitzvos aseh] — through them: "give strength to G-d" [Tehillim 68:35] — this is the Shechina Who is strengthened with power truly — for upon Her hangs the deed [ma'aseh]. And strength — this is the Tzaddik. Through it: "a tower of strength is the Name of Hashem" [Mishlei 18:10]. When is it a tower of strength? — Only at the time: "the righteous one runs to it" — then that tower is exalted. Furthermore — the 248 positive commandments — through them: "and I will give the rain of your land in its season" [Devarim 11:14].

II. 365 Negative Commandments — Guards of the Shechina

"The great awe" — these are the 365 negative commandments [mitzvos lo sa'aseh] — of which it is said: "those who honor Me I will honor" [Shemuel I 2:30] — this is honor through the positive commandments. "And those who despise Me shall be dishonored" — through the negative commandments. And positive commandments — one is not punished for them except in a time of wrath. But negative commandments — one who transgresses them — it is said of him: "for he has despised the word of Hashem and has broken His commandment" [Bamidbar 15:31] — this is the Shechina — as in: "they have made void Your Torah" [Tehillim 119:126] — because the Sitra Achra has clung to Her. For the negative commandments are guards for the Shechina — and one who transgresses them it is said of him: "and one who breaks a fence — a serpent shall bite him" [Koheles 10:8]. Therefore: "shall be dishonored" — from the side of that impure one. As it is written: "his own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked"... [Mishlei 5:22]. Fortunate is the portion of the righteous in this world and in the World to Come.
