ולכל היד החזקה דא זכות אבות. ורזא דא אבהן עלאין מקורין דישראל אינון,

ובהו מתתקפין בניהון. אבל אית זמנין דאתמר בהו תמה זכות אבות (שבת נה.).ומשה בגין האי קאים לאתתקפא להו, ואיהו אמר זכור לאברהם ליצחק ולישראלעבדיך (שמות לביג). דמשה, רעיא מהימנא לישראל איהו ודאי, ובכלא קאים לאוטבאלון. ומסטרא דא קאים לאתקפא זכות אבות עלייהו. ובג"כ ואת עצומים יחלק שללא

"The mighty hand" — this is the merit of the Patriarchs [zechus avos]. The mystery: the supernal Patriarchs are the roots of Israel — and through them their children are strengthened. But there are times of which it is said: "the merit of the Patriarchs has been exhausted" [Shabbos 55a]. And Moshe stands because of this — to strengthen it for them — and he said: "remember Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yisrael Your servants" [Shemos 32:13]. For Moshe — the faithful shepherd of Israel — is he truly — and in all things he stands to do good for them. And from this aspect he stands to strengthen the merit of the Patriarchs upon them. Therefore: "and He shall divide the spoil with the mighty" [Yeshayahu 53:12] — these are the Patriarchs.

ולכל המורא הגדול לאתקפא ליה למלכא משיחא דאיהוסביל מרעין בגינייהו. ואיהו קאים נמי תמן בהדיה. ובין האי והאי משתזביןישראל בגלותייהו.

"The great awe" — to strengthen Mashiach the King — who bears afflictions for their sake. And he stands there with it. And between this and that Israel is saved in their exiles.
