הא אד"ק סבא דסבין אתי פתח ואמר, ר' ר' ולכל היד החזקה אלין דאתמר בהו וקוי ה' יחליפו כח (ישעיה מ לא) דאתמר בהו נותן ליעף כח (שם שם כט) אלין צדיקיא דיהון בעלמא בזמנא דפורקנא, דבהון יתתקן עלמא ויתתקף ממאי דאתחלש בגלותא. אבל ולכל המורא הגדול אלין מתין דיקומון מעפרא. ואי תימא אמאי יקומון. אלא בגין לאתערא כלהו מלין קדמאין דהוו כבר. כמה עקתין דעברו על ישראל. דכדין יקומון כל אינון דאתקטלו מאומין דעלמא. וכלהו דקטלו לון מלכין, דגזרו כמה שמדות על ישראל. וכלא לאתערא דרגין עלאין למעבד נוקמין באינון חייביא. ורזא דא יחיו מתיך וכו' וארץ רפאים תפיל (ישעיה כו יט) אלין עמלקים דיתמחון מעלמא. במאי. אלא באתערותא דיתערון אינון מתין דיקומון לזמנא דאתי.

Then the Ancient of Days [Atik De-Atkin] — the Elder of Elders — came and opened, saying: Rebbe Rebbe — "the mighty hand" — these are those of whom it is said: "those who hope in Hashem shall renew their strength" [Yeshayahu 40:31] — of whom it is said: "He gives power to the faint" [ibid. 40:29]. These are the righteous who will be in the world at the time of the redemption — through whom the world will be established and strengthened from what was weakened in exile. But "the great awe" — these are the dead who will rise from the dust. And if you ask — why will they rise? — Because they must awaken all the former matters that already were. How many anguishes passed over Israel — for then all who were killed by the nations of the world will arise. And all those killed by kings who decreed how many religious persecutions [shemados] against Israel. And all to awaken the supernal levels to take vengeance against those guilty ones. The mystery: "Your dead shall live — and the earth shall cast out the Rephaim" [Yeshayahu 26:19] — these are the Amalekim who will be erased from the world. Through what? — Through the awakening of those dead who will rise in the time to come.
