I. Tikun Fifty — An Elder Speaks: Elijah is the Mighty Hand

## Segment 4

Then an elder [Sava Chadah] arose and opened, saying: Rebbe Rebbe — fortunate is your portion — for through these seventy Tikunim a supernal Tikun has ascended through your hand — and through them the seventy princes before the Shechina will be broken. And so all the nations — their powers — will fall beneath Israel below. But come and see: "the mighty hand" — this is Elijah the faithful Prophet — of whom it is said: "behold I send to you Elijah..." [Malachi 3:23]. And he stands to join all Israel to their sources — to strengthen all above and below. The mystery: "and he will turn back the heart of the fathers upon the children and the heart..." "The great awe" — this is Moshe — of whom it is said: "for Moshe — awe is a minor thing for him" [Brachos 33b]. And this is the Shechina — who is his bride — and it is proper for him to have Her rest in the world. Therefore he will come at the redemption together with the two Mashiachs to establish the world in a complete Tikun.

[Note on Chazakah: Chazakah [חזק׳ה] has the gematria of Eliyahu HaNavi [Elijah the Prophet = 52+42+5 = gematria of the letters of ChZKH] — a hidden seal of Elijah's identity within the very words "the mighty hand [yad ha-chazakah]" throughout the entire work.]

Furthermore: "the mighty hand" — this is Dovid's hand [דו׳ד י׳ד] — as it is said: "and Dovid playing with the hand" [Shemuel I 19:9] — who will return at the redemption together with Mashiach. For he has already established many supernal Tikunim for the Shechina — and in many battles fought against the idol-worshipping nations and conquered them. And at the time he comes — many nations will be broken before him — to awaken the first Tikun he made at another time. "The great awe" — this is Mashiach the King. For Dovid is the beginning of the Tikun — Mashiach is its completion — and this has been stated.
