Segment 2 HE: עַל־יְדֵי דְּאָגָה בָּא שִׁכְחָה. EN: 2. Through worry comes forgetfulness. Segment 3 HE: עַל־יְדֵי לִמּוּד בְּפֶה מָלֵא בָּא זְכִירָה. EN: 3. Through learning aloud comes memory. Segment 4 HE: עַל־יְדֵי צַעַר בָּא שִׁכְחָה. EN: 4. Through suffering comes forgetfulness. Segment 5 HE: כְּשֶׁתְּצַיֵּר לְפָנֶיךָ צוּרַת אָבִיךָ וְאִמְּךָ, תָּבוֹא לִזְכִירָה. EN: 5. By picturing before you the image of your father and mother, you will come to memory. Segment 6 HE: עַל־יְדֵי מִצְוֹת מַעֲשִׂיּוֹת הָאָדָם נִתָּר מִמִּדַּת שִׁכְחָה וְנִקְשָׁר בְּמִדַּת זְכִירָה. EN: 6. Through carrying out practical commandments, one is released from the vice of forgetfulness and is connected to the quality of memory. Segment 7 HE: עַל־יְדֵי נִאוּף מְאַבֵּד הַזִּכָּרוֹן. EN: 7. Through promiscuity, one destroys the memory. Segment 8 HE: עַל־יְדֵי כְּזָבִים בָּא שִׁכְחָה. EN: 8. Through falsehood comes forgetfulness. Segment 9 HE: מִי שֶׁאֵין לוֹ זִכָּרוֹן, יַחֲזִיר אֶת בְּנֵי־אָדָם בִּתְשׁוּבָה. EN: 9. Someone without memory should bring people back in repentance. Segment 10 HE: מִי שֶׁאֵין לוֹ זִכָּרוֹן, בְּיָדוּעַ שֶׁלֹּא תִּקֵּן חַטְּאוֹת נְעוּרִים. EN: 10. Someone without memory, it is certain that he has not repaired the sins of his youth.
