## Segment 1

עַל־יְדֵי צְדָקָה זוֹכֶה לְחֵן.

1. Through charity one merits to grace.


## Segment 2

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

עַל־יְדֵי שִׁפְלוּת זוֹכֶה לְחֵן.

</div>

2. Through humility one merits to grace.


## Segment 3

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

לְחֵן יַכְנִיס אוֹרְחִים.

</div>

3. To find grace, one should be a host to guests.


## Segment 4

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

גַּם יִשְׁמֹר אֶת עַצְמוֹ מִמַּאַכְלֵי אִסּוּר, וְיִשְׁמֹר אֶת פִּיו מִדִּבּוּר אָסוּר.

4. Also, one should guard oneself from forbidden foods, and guard one's mouth from forbidden speech.


## Segment 5

מִי שֶׁמְּפַזֵּר מְעוֹתָיו בִּשְׁבִיל לִקְנוֹת לְעַצְמוֹ רַב לִלְמֹד מִמֶּנּוּ, עַל־יְדֵי זֶה יִמְצָא חֵן.

5. One who expends money to acquire a rabbi from whom to learn, through this he will find grace.


## Segment 6

כְּשֶׁתַּעֲבִיר עַל מִדּוֹתֶיךָ, תִּמְצָא חֵן.

6. When you defer, you will find grace.


## Segment 7

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

עַל־יְדֵי תּוֹכָחָה תִּשָּׂא חֵן.

7. Through [giving] rebuke, you will find grace.


## Segment 8

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

שֶׁמֶן־זַיִת מְסֻגָּל לְחֵן.

</div>

8. Olive oil is a segulah (auspicious) for grace.


## Segment 9

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

סְגֻלָּה לְחֵן תִּכְתֹּב עַל קְלַף; כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת אַלּוּף.

9. A segulah for finding grace is to write on parchment, "Silver and gold kindness and truth champion."


## Segment 10

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

עַל־יְדֵי הַיִּרְאָה מִתַּלְמִיד־חָכָם תִּזְכֶּה לְחֵן.

10. By the awe [you have] for a Torah scholar, you merit to grace.


## Segment 11

דִּבּוּרִים הַיּוֹצְאִים בְּנִיחוּתָא נִתְקַבְּלִים אֵצֶל בְּנֵי־אָדָם.

11. Words that are spoken (lit. come out) calmly are accepted by people.

יֵשׁ דָּגִים שֶׁהֵם מְסֻגָּלִים לְחֵן.

12. There are fish which are conducive to grace.


## Segment 13

עֵסֶק הַתּוֹרָה בַּדֶּרֶךְ נוֹתֶנֶת חֵן.

13. Learning Torah while traveling gives one grace.


## Segment 14

<div dir="rtl" lang="he">

כְּשֶׁאָדָם בָּא לְעִיר לָדוּר, יִשְׁלַח בָּשָׂר לַעֲנִיֵּי הָעִיר, וְעַל־יְדֵי זֶה יִשָּׂא חֵן בְּעֵינֵי שָׁרֵי הָעִיר.

1. When a man comes to a city to live, he should send meat to the poor of the city, and through this he will find grace in the eyes of the city's officials.
