בְּקַיִץ תקס"ה נָסַע פִּתְאם לְשַׁארִיגְרַאד בֵּין פֶּסַח לַעֲצֶרֶת וְהַנְּסִיעָה הַזּאת הָיְתָה פְּלִיאָה גְּדוֹלָה וְנִשְׂגָּבָה כִּי לא הָיָה בָּהּ שׁוּם טַעַם עַל-פִּי פָּשׁוּט וּכְבָר מְבאָר קְצָת בְּסִפּוּרֵי נְסִיעוֹתָיו הַקְּדוֹשִׁים מֵעִנְיַן נְסִיעָה הַזּאת:
And immediately after the first Rosh Hashana from when I drew close to him — which was Rosh Hashana of 5563 — he began to accustom me to write his holy Torah teachings. But I had still not merited to write his holy Torah before him until after Shabbas Chanukah, when I wrote before him the entire Torah beginning with "Raisisi Menoraas Zahav" — "I saw a golden menorah" [Likutay Moharan §8].
