I saw and understood. Hashem gave me wisdom and reason to understand. I saw Rav Naftali Cohen — he was a great and learned man, a builder who could construct great buildings, and he built a synagogue. I asked him questions about what to do with the yetzer hora. He loved speaking with me — he saw my temimus and truth, and so he loved me greatly. But there was a great distance between us — he was already old and a Torah scholar, and I was plain and simple. He spoke with me — he did not love to speak much, but in his words there was holy wisdom. He introduced into me a new spirit — the matter of Rabbenu.
