Chapter Sixty-Seven: The Torah Portion "At Your New Moons"

Segment 1

Our holy Rabbenu says that a segulah for enduring offspring is that the husband and wife — both of them together — recite the Torah portion of "At Your New Moons." And similarly when G-d forbid the infant is ill — they should also recite, both husband and wife together, the portion of "At Your New Moons."

Segment 2

There was an event. One girl was ill — she developed a great swelling and the doctors despaired. So I asked the father and mother: "What are the doctors saying?"

Segment 3

They told me the doctors said it was growing and growing and growing and they could not perform surgery and they did not know what to do.

Segment 4

I told them to recite — he and his wife — the portion of "At Your New Moons," from Likutay Moharan ch. 151. And the girl would have a healing. And so it was!

Segment 5

The father began to recite "At Your New Moons" — he and his wife… And the girl was eating and sitting and everything was fine!

Segment 6

*"And at your New Moons you shall offer up a burnt-offering to Hashem: two young bulls and one ram and seven unblemished year-old lambs. And three tenths of fine flour as a meal-offering mixed with oil for each bull, and two tenths of fine flour as a meal-offering mixed with oil for the one ram. And one tenth of fine flour as a meal-offering mixed with oil for each lamb — a burnt-offering of pleasant aroma, a fire-offering to Hashem. And their libations: half a hin for each bull, and a third of a hin for the ram, and a quarter of a hin for each lamb — of wine. This is the burnt-offering of the new month in its renewal, for the months of the year. And one he-goat as a sin-offering to Hashem — in addition to the continual burnt-offering it shall be performed, and its libation." [Numbers 28]
