Chapter Eighty-Two: The Essential and the Foundation

The essential is our holy Rabbenu Rabbi Nachman!

This is the essential and foundation of all the Torah — for each and every one of Israel. To repair him, to help him, for all salvations. He is the essential. Our holy Rabbenu already exists — everything already exists! One need not search elsewhere. The essential is Rabbenu. There is nothing — only Rabbenu! Such truth as has never yet been in the world — such a wonder has never yet been in the world.

Even if one truly wants — if one truly prays to Hashem — then one merits: one merits to wondrous things!

Hashem gave me good gifts — I know certain wondrous matters that it is impossible to speak of with just anyone. There are matters that conceal the truth. This world is very dangerous. One needs great mercy and to pray to Hashem always that we merit to know the truth. There are many liars in the world who destroy the world. There are many famous-ones of falsehood. Yes. But Hashem is very great — He will transform everything to good. Falsehood will fall entirely, entirely. Our holy Rabbenu revealed great wonders about this…

We speak of Moshe Rabbenu, of Mashiach, of such lights — and Rabbenu surpasses everything. He is the root of Torah and emunah and the repair of each and every one of Israel — however distant he became and however low he fell. No such wonder has ever existed in the world. Our holy Rabbenu revealed that he is such a wonder. He revealed a drop from the sea. Yes.

Rabbenu Rabbi Nachman — he is the essential, the root and foundation of ours and of all Israel and of all repairs and all teshuvas. He is everything! Without him we have nothing! He is the essential and the foundation of all Israel, of all the Torah! So he revealed to us — a drop from the sea. Nu — if there is no emunah — there is nothing. There is much to speak and tell of what is in the world now…

Oy — our holy Rabbenu — what he does for us! We do not know at all!

He gives everything he has — his entire soul — for us. He has compassion for us. Oy — what service, what mesiras nefesh our holy Rabbenu suffers for us in order to make of us some vessel for Hashem.

It may be that my word is a great thing for healing and emunah. This is not for nothing — I do not see anything. But it appears that the word has power. They come to me and I have compassion — I want to help.

The Chassidim persecuted me all the days of my life. And blessed be Hashem — I was strong in truth and I was strong against all of them. I have no flaw, no desire, no disqualifying matter G-d forbid. This I merited to — through our holy Rabbenu.

The desires flee from me as if they are utterly furious with me — the desires flee as if from fire!

They have no power and no flaw G-d forbid to cause me to stumble in any thought, in any damaged matter, in anything evil. I wonder greatly — every living person has desires. And I — the desires are utterly furious with me. As if there are no desires in the world. I have no battle whatsoever G-d forbid. I do not need any service, any battle. I am as if there are no desires in the world. The desires flee from me as if from fire…
