Praised be G-d — he came home in peace yesterday after midday. And praised be Hashem — all was well established from Hashem. And because of the immensity of his longing to know of his welfare — in particular about his arrival home from Uman before Shavuos — he therefore urges himself now before the prayer to write to him — even though he still does not know with whom to send it. And it is impossible to extend — for the time for Shacharis has arrived. He received his pleasant letter from the past Thursday — on the past Sunday — in Uman. And they drank a little for the joy of his bris milah — and blessed him with the blessing of mazal tov. Also at the holy tziyun he mentioned this among their very many needs — which are beyond telling. And may Hashem Yisborach grant him to raise him to Torah and chupah and good deeds — for long days and good years — Amen.
The words of your father — who awaits seeing you anew at the holy Shavuos coming upon us for good — in great joy — in His chesed Yisborach.
Nussun of Breslov.
And peace to all our anshei sh'lomaynu with great love. And in particular to the grandson of our Master our Teacher and our Rebbe — zacher tzaddik v'kadosh livrachah — the veteran and so forth — our Teacher the Rabbi Nachman — may he live — with all his household. Tell him that he remembers and mentions him well well at every time — and in particular at the holy tziyun. Would that his heart be so to him — to remember himself well too — who he is and where he is — *"anah briyah kalah shebayam"* — "here I am — a flimsy creature in the sea." [אֲנָא בְּרִיָּה קַלָּה שֶׁבַּיָּם — from the Talmud (Berachot 61b) — the prayer of Rabbi Eliezer on his deathbed. The phrase expresses radical humility before Hashem — I am a flimsy creature — a small creature tossed in the sea of this world. Reb Nussun uses this as a call to his correspondent to remember his own smallness and vulnerability — and from that awareness — to find his way to the truth] And may Hashem illuminate their eyes — that he find a way to gather with us — so that it will be good for him forever and eternally.
