תּוֹרָה רד
הַמָּעוֹת שֶׁנּוֹתְנִין לְתַלְמִיד חָכָם הוּא בְּחִינַת תּוֹרָה מַמָּשׁ, וְאֵין עֲבֵרָה יְכוֹלָה לְכַבּוֹת זֶה הַמָּעוֹת שֶׁנּוֹתְנִין לְתַלְמִיד־חָכָם, כִּי אֵין עֲבֵרָה מְכַבָּה תּוֹרָה, וְזֶה מָעוֹת רָאשֵׁי־תֵּבוֹת: "וְאֵין "עֲבֵרָה "מְכַבָּה "תּוֹרָה (סוֹטָה כ"א):

The money given to a Torah scholar is literally Torah. And no transgression can extinguish this money given to a Torah scholar. For no transgression extinguishes Torah. And this — "ma'os" [money] — is the initial letters of: ""and no transgression extinguishes Torah"" [Sotah 21a].
