עִנְיַן אֵיךְ שֶׁצְּרִיכִין לְהִתְחַזֵּק מְאד לְהַרְבּוֹת בְּתַחֲנוּנִים וּצְעָקוֹת וְהִתְבּוֹדְדוּת אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁנִּדְמֶה לוֹ שֶׁזֶּה כְּמוֹ שֶׁהוּא עוֹסֵק בָּזֶה וְאֵינוֹ רוֹאֶה שׁוּם פְּעֻלָּה כְּלָל, אַף עַל פִּי כֵן עַל כָּל פָּנִים הוּא בִּבְחִינַת מְחָאָה נֶגֶד הַסִּטְרָא אַחֲרָא שֶׁלּא תּוּכַל עַל יְדֵי זֶה לְהַחֲזִיק בְּנַחֲלָתוֹ חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, לְעוֹלָם, עַיֵּן הִתְבּוֹדְדוּת כ"ט

Regarding how one must strengthen oneself greatly to multiply supplications and cries and hisbodidus even though it seems that he has been engaged in this and sees no result whatsoever — even so it is at least in the aspect of a protest against the sitra achra, that it should not be able through this to take permanent hold of his inheritance, G-d forbid, forever.
