אמר: שמעולם לא שתה אפלו מים קדם התפלה והקפיד מאד על אלו השותין קאווע וכיוצא בזה קדם התפלה (תנח):

He said: He never drank even water before prayer.[456] And he was very displeased with those who drink coffee and the like before prayer.
