Letter 37: Be Strong, So Strong
28th of Elul 5720 (September 20, 1960), Tel-Aviv
My beloved, my precious one, Mr. Z. Shazar – who is good and charming to all, who draws life
from the waters of loving-kindness, which in them hangs the root of his lifeforce and the
rectification of his soul. May he be written and sealed amongst the holy gathering in the book
of the Tzaddik for pleasant and good life, for long life, and for peace to no end.
With the happiness of my heart, I received his letter together with the check amounting to
one-hundred Israeli Liras, and I am jubilant over his salvation, that which God was of his
assistance, and he merited that it should spark in his pure heart a bit of the sparking of
the luminary of the Tzaddik – who dug and found the redemption and emancipation of our souls.
יקירי חביבי, למען ה' אל יזוז דעתו ומחשבתו, רק להיות עמנו על ראש השנה, ולהכניס ראשו בין הנפשות המקשרים את עצמם עם נשמת אור רבינו ז"ל, ואז טוב לו. ואם המניעות חזקים, עוד טוב יותר ויותר, כי עיקר החשק והכיסופין לשוב אליו יתברך מתגברין רק על ידי שבירת מניעות. חזק וחזק כי הכל יתהפך לטובה על ידי הניגון של ע"ב נימין של הצדיק הקדוש והנורא.
My precious one, my friend, for the sake of God, his mind and thoughts shouldn't budge – only
to be with us for Rosh Hashana, and to insert his head between the souls who attach themselves
to the soul, the light of Rabbeinu – and then there will be good for him. And if the obstacles
are strong, then it's even better still, for the main passion and longings to return to Him
strengthens only through the breaking of obstacles. Be strong, so strong, because everything
will turn into good by way of the song of seventy-two strings of the holy and awesome Tzaddik.
Letter 94
Rosh Chodesh Kislev 5725 (November 1964)
To the President of Israel, my eyes and my heart, Mr. S.Z. Shazar, who graces and honors with
all types of charm and splendor the true guardians of the city, who cherish him with great
and inordinate affection for by virtue of his great precious refined soul he merited to
distinguish and to understand the real truth, which is a new secret weapon, which vanquishes
and destroys the falsehood and the top head of all impurities of false faiths and superficial
wisdoms, which destroy and desolate the world with heresy and apostasy and bring all the
hardships and evils of the world, may the Merciful One save us.
Shalom and blessing and all good. My heart, my precious one. For a long time it has been
very difficult for me the task of writing, because the malady of old age overcame me
exceedingly. My eyes dimmed, and my hands unsteadied, and my knees lapse, and my strength
saps and dwindles from day to day.
ה' יודע ועד, שאתה שוכן בליבי תמיד, וליבי שבור ורצוץ ומלא מרירות על שאיני זוכה להחיותך ולשמח נפשך בדברי החכם המנהיג האמת, שמנחם ומשמח ומחיה נפש כל חי לדורות עולם.
Hashem knows and is witness, that you dwell in my heart always, and my heart is broken, and
crushed, and full of bitterness over my not meriting to vitalize you and to bring joy to
your soul with the words of the true sage and leader, who consoles and brings joy, and
vitalizes the soul of all the living, for generations eternally.
Letter 51: The Primary Lifeforce
On the primary lifeforce and existence of the Jewish people through NNNNM
The primary lifeforce and existence of all the Jewish people is through Na Nach Nachma
Nachman MeUman. Through this holy name, all blessings and salvations come to Israel.
The letters of this holy name contain tremendous power to draw close to the true Tzaddik
and to receive illumination from his great light.
Saba emphasized that by saying "Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman" with faith and intention,
one connects to the spiritual source of Rabbi Nachman's teachings and merits to be included
in the congregation of Israel.
