One steps in it a small step

[In the language of our Rebbe, of blessed memory]: One steps in it a small step — for initially, the Malkhut [Kingship — the lowest of the sefirot] is beside Ze’ir Anpin [the “Small Face” — the six central sefirot representing Divine emotion and the process of spiritual development] in the aspect of "oshitp'si'ahlevar" — “extending a step outward,” as is brought in the holy Zohar (Balak 203b), and as explained in the writings of the Ari, of blessed memory.

One dines in it — that is, when we seek to rectify it [Malkhut] and elevate it into the aspect of ezerk’negdo — “a helper opposite him” [Genesis 2:18], so that it may be face-to-face [with Ze’ir Anpin], in a state of mutual, direct connection.

And to bless three times — meaning, that it is necessary to illuminate the sefirot of Netzach, Hod, and Yesod of Ze’ir Anpin. For from there is the primary structure [of Malkhut] built.

Their righteousness shall shine — an explanation: how do Netzach, Hod, and Yesod of Ze’ir Anpin become blessed? Through the moḥin [intellectual powers] that Ze’ir Anpin receives, as is taught.

And these moḥin (mental lights) are four: Chokhmah [wisdom], Binah [understanding], Chesed [kindness],

and Gevurah [strength/discipline]. And they are clothed within the Netzach, Hod, and Yesod of Binah.

[This illumination] is like the light of the seven days

Shin with three heads — representing the three intellectual powers (Chokhmah, Binah, Da’at), and

Shin with four heads — representing the four moḥin mentioned above.

[Until here is his language, may his memory be for a blessing.]
