B.H. Midnight of Friday (Thursday night) 26 Tishray 719 (10 October, 1958). To the friend of my heart, who desires and yearns to behold the brilliant, hidden, and cached apparitions, Mr. Z. Shazar, may Hashem raise the horn/glory of his salvation, and open the eyes of his intellect to discern and see the truth eye to eye (-blatantly). In our days a marauder has come into our borders, and he is the head of all our tormenters. He placed an iron siege upon us, buried mines in our roads, spread nets for our feet, sharpened his eyes and gnashed his teeth at us, to make pretense and pounce upon us to eradicate us and to destroy us, and every single day he renews and intensifies upon us, to have us drink the cup of his poisons, and it is not possible whatsoever to stand up against him. Therefore, Hashem did with us wonders, and preempted the cure to the blow, and He brought down to us a true tzadik, head and choice of all the selected tzadikim, who is the sole Rebbe and leader of our generation and of all the future gnerations, to water the land with wisdom and knowledge of Hashem, with the rivers and brooks of his wisdom, and his rectifications, and his deep aitzoas (remedies/advice); to purify the impure, to wash those filthy with excrement, to bleach stains, to merit the guilty, to atone willful sinners, to draw close the alienated, to gather the rejected and lost, to free the incarcerated from captivity, (and) to bring joy to the hearts of depressed and the wretched! Fortunate is he who merits to be saved from (being of) the errant and strayers in the darkness and obscurity so they do not see and gaze at/in the light of the true tzadik who is the root of the collective of all the tzadikim of all the generations, and he will finish completely all the rectifications that the tzadikim of all the generations began, because even the great tzadikim still have not finished this matter completely and just he will finish all the rectifications and rectify the entire world to utopian perfection, and with his great power he will quell and nullify all the heresy and apostasy from the world, and he will draw great faith into the world, and all who traverse the world will return to Hashem Yisburach and they will all fulfill the Torah, and he will illuminate to each one the revelation of His Divinity in an extremely wondrous revelation, the likes of which have still not been seen and nor heard in history. There are very extremely fallen souls, that fell as they fell, beyond all bounds, to the nethermost abyss, until the evil took hold of them so much that it is impossible for them in any way to return to Hashem Yisburach, and it is impossible for them to have any recitication in the world except through the neshama (-soul) of the true tzadik who has in his great power (the ability) to rectify everything, even in all the places and in all the matters that are transpiring over him (-one of the aforementioned), to give him live, and to arouse him, and to awaken him, and to get him up from wherever he is, and then the joy is extremely great. Because there is no joy before Him blessed He like when the very distanced return to Him, like when they return to the king his son who was banished from before his presence due to his transgressions, and through this that he was distanced, he degenerated extremely time and again, because his morale fell by seeing his great estrangement from the king, until he erred and it seemed to him in his mind that the king alienated him forever, and he did not anticipate returning ever to the king. But in reality the king has great agony all the time and he remembers his distant son all the time. And when someone is to be found who has mercy on the king and on his sin, and goes to the septic place where he fell, and he conveys hints to him, and deals with him with wondrous wisdom, amazingly wondrous, until he imbues him with thoughts of repentance and returns him to the king, how much joy and exquisite pleasure he causes for the king, immeasurable, because this is the essential joy, and greatness, and exquisite pleasure, and (playful, gratifying) delight of the King blessed He, when they bring back to him the very alienated, and they are rectified from the disgrace of their colossal sins, however it may be, however it may be, even if they sinned what they sinned Heaven forbid. When the force of the pollution of the (primordial) snake are domineering Heaven forbid – that is the filthy places, and he is very distance from the holiness of his Judaism, and he is vagrant and vagabond and they are repelling him from his holiness from bad to worse, until the he wants to knock him down completely from the point (-core) of his Judaism Heaven forbid, there is then an arousal of the holiness of the soul of the man. And specifically then, if he is strong and courageous, and he begins to seek, and solicit, and search, and tunnel at all times, and to yearn and long to find Him blessed He, then even though there still pass by many days and years and he doesn't merit to find Him blessed He and to draw close to Him, even still he should know and believe that every single time, through every single supplication, and through every single solicitation that he solicits, and seeks, and searches to find His glorious honor blessed He, and through every gaze and yearning that he gazes and looks up (pleadingly) for His mercy blessed He, and through every single movement that he turns to holiness – through all this he merits each time to break iron walls and copper doors, so that even though afterwards they intensify over him more each time, may the Merciful One save us, even still his exertion was not in vain, Heaven forbid, and there is not any movement of turning to holiness that goes lost, Heaven forbid, because it is necessary for him pass many time and times and many seas, and rivers, and deep oceans, and different waters must transpire over him, and in many deserts filled with large and hideous snakes and scorpions he must traverse in them until he merits to truly enter into the gates of holiness. And if he is strong and mighty like a lion to seek and search more even if whatever it is transpires over him, then certainly in the very end he will merit to find Him blessed He until he merits to ascend in the tachlis (-utmost) ascent. And all this strength to search and to seek Him blessed He even in the tachlis (-furthermost) descent, in the furthermost exile of the soul, until we have become extremely distant for His Glory blessed He, all this is with the strength and the merit of the Torah of the true tzadik who revealed secrets of the Torah addressing an area which bears all the secrets and esoterics of the Torah which are the aspect of "A-yay." Because if not for the merit of the true tzadikim we would not even have the strength to search and seek at all, and Heaven forbid they would drown Heaven forbid and there would not be any getting back up (/footing/stance) for those who fall, and the alienated who became so distant from the holiness. And particularly now that there are people who fell to abysses immeasurably etc. etc., and from where would they receive vitality and strength to still arouse and seek and search His Glory blessed He and to return to Him, certainly Heaven forbid they would be hopeless Heaven forbid. However, in reality, through the strength of the true tzadik who merited to the aspect of "A-yay," through this there is strength for all those who fall even to the filthy places etc. that they can search "A-yay" etc., until they rise in the utmost ascent. The true tzadik, it is he who inclines towards kindness always and finds good in each one of Israel, because he knows how to gather all the aspects of good hairs that are found in each one of Israel, and through this he engages in healing each one, and even if one is very extremely sick in the illness of his soul, because he (the tzadik) finds in him as well good points, the aspect of hairs, that is, what he (the invalid) extracted himself a hairbreadth from bad to good, and this hair is the aspect of a conduit and vessel, through which the tzadik extends to him as well intellect and constrictions, until he (the tzadik) imbues him (the invalid) as well with hasagos Eloakus (conceptions of the Divine), this being the main greatness of the tzadik, when he is able to heal even the very most sick! The transcriber and the organizer, who prays every day for his wellbeing and his success, and is bound to his precious and pleasant soul at all times always, with full heart and full soul in truth, and expresses wishes for his wellbeing and goodness and the wellbeing of all those who accompany him. Yisroel Dov Odesser Also I call for the wellbeing of the dear friend the rabbi Yitzchok Gelbach Na Nach Nachma Nachman MeUman!
