It Is A Great Mitzva To Be Happy Always
It Is A Great Mitzva To Be Joyous Always The holy Rebbe does not let us be sad. “Sadness and laziness” these are two extreme destroyers (*See Likutay Moharan, Torah 189, condensed in Likutay Aitzos, entry of Joy, article 23 which call them the main bite of the snake) - - and nebach (pitifully) we fall into sadness – and into lethargy… and therefore we don't have vitality in our Judaism the way it should be. Furthermore, the holy Rebbe warned us; not only – not to have sadness and laziness, but – to be happy! Just like in the Legendary Tales (*Story #13 – The Seven Beggars, at the beginning) it is written – that the king told him (-his son); “In the stars I see that in the future you will descend from the monarchy, you should see to it that you should not have any sadness – just be joyous!” First of all – no sadness – this [for sure not], So what then? On the contrary – even more so – he should be happy! Nu, the holy Rebbe says – just to be always happy (* Likutay Moharan, vol. 2, Torah 24). Nu, if so it is a mitzva! The holy Rebbe speaks so much about joy, and Rabbi Nussun in Likutay Halachos, and Likutay Aitzos (-remedies, directives), what the Rebbe says in The Words of Rabbi Nachman – in the Words of Rabbi Nachman there are such words about joy, that it appears that it is already impossible - - how is it possible to part from this?! Nu, and the becheera (free choice) is so great, and we don't know - - the holy Rebbe brought this down as a way! *
