People say: one whom the Holy Blessed One wishes to make young [naar] — He takes his wife from him. For a virtuous wife is in the aspect of (Proverbs 12:4): "A woman of valor is the crown of her husband." And when she dies, Heaven forbid, it is the aspect of (Lamentations 5:16): "Fallen is the crown of our head" — the first letters of "Nafla Ateres Rosheinu" [fallen is the crown of our head] spell "Naar" [youth].
