כא "קדושת שבעת הנרות", יקדש עיניו מלהסתכל ברע, ואזניו בשמעו לדברי חכמים, וחוטמיו בהאריך אפו על כל דבר, וירחם על מי שרצה לכעוס עליו, ופיו יקדש בדיבורי תורה ותפילה ובשמירתו מדיבורים אסורים ובזה יזכה לשפע אלוהי, ולקדושת המחשבה:

One should recite it with deliberateness and joy as above. Through this, one rectifies all the spiritual blemishes of the entire day — including all blemishes of the holy covenant, Rachmana litzlan — in the aspect of: "One who recites the Shema upon his bed — harmful spirits flee from him."
