PNC Front Matter — Misod Gedulas ha-Tanna Rebbi Shimoan Bar Yochai

**Lechu chazu mif'aloas HaShem — his-gallus nifla mi-soid gedulas ha-Tanna ha-Eloiki Rebbi Shimoan ben Yochai zal.** *Come and see the works of HaShem* — a *nifla'a his-gallus* from the soid of the Tanna ha-Eloiki RaShBY. **Rebbi Shimoan ben Yochai hivti'ach she-loi tishtakach Toirah mi-Yisrael al yodoi.** **Shabbos 138b**: *k'she-nichnesu Chazal le-kerem be-Yavneh omru — asidah Toirah she-tishtakach mi-Yisrael; ve-omar Rebbi Shimoan ben Yochai: she-loi tishtakach.* **Zoihar Naso 124b**: **"be-ha-i chibura de-ihu Sefer ha-Zoihar — yifkun bah min golusa."** Two faces of the one havtachah: *Toirah will not be forgotten*, and *Sefer ha-Zoihar will be the kli of the ge'ulah*. The un-forgetting of Toirah IS the exit from golus.

**Soifai tayvoas "ki loi tishokach mi-pi zar'oi" = יוחאי.** Boi u-r'ai ve-havain nifla'oas nis'toroas shel Toirosainu ha-kedoishah. **Ki al kain somach Rebbi Shimoan ben Yochai atzmoi al zeh ha-posuk** (Devorim 31:21): **"ki loi sishokach mi-pi zar'oi."** Ba-posuk be-atzmoi mu-rmoz ve-nis-tor soid ha-zeh: *al-yedai zar'oi shel Yochai — she-hu Rebbi Shimoan ben Yochai — al yodoi loi sishtakach ha-Toirah mi-Yisrael*. The soifai tayvoas of **"כי לא תשכח מפי זרעו"** in the soid-tradition spell **י־ו־ח־א־י**. The *Yochai* who guarantees the un-forgetting is *literally signed* into the soifai tayvoas of the very pasuk that promises it.

**"Ir ve-kadish min shamaya nachis" — roshai tayvoas שמעון.** **Ve-da, she-soid Rebbi Shimoan be-atzmoi hu mu-rmoz be-posuk acheir.** *Ki ha-Tanna ha-Kodoish Rebbi Shimoan hu bechinas* (Daniel 4:10): **"עִיר וְקַדִּישׁ מִן שְׁמַיָּא נָחִת"** — *an angelic-Watcher and Holy one descended from shomayim*. **Roshai tayvoas: שמעון** (al pi mesoires soid). RaShBY *hayah "ir ve-kadish min shamaya nachis" mamash* — a holy Watcher who descended — *u-shemoi cha-suv ba-posuk ha-mesa'er oisoi*. Reb Nosson placed this piece at the gate of Likutay Moharan so the reader enters through the discovery that *Toirah does not forget, because the Tanna ha-Eloiki signed his name into the Toirah's own promise* — and the same is true of the saifer in your hands.
