Chapter Forty-Five: "I Have Set Hashem Before Me Always"
Yisroel Saba
(A precious manuscript was found among Rabbi Yisroel's holy writings. It appears that Rabbi Yisroel was accustomed to carry it with him and to fulfill through it, during the time of study, the verse: "I have set Hashem before me always" — and likewise the Torah teachings hinted in this holy page.)
For example, one can discern that Rabbi Yisroel divides the word tamid — "always" — into two: tam — an aspect of Yaakov, an aspect of ascent — and yad — an aspect of Esav, an aspect of descent. That is to say: a person must see the goodness and kindness of Hashem both in times of ascent and in times of descent — and strengthen himself, and so on. And according to this path one can fulfill "It is a great commandment to always be in joy", and so on.

And the one who looks carefully will be able to find words of awakening and strengthening for the service of Hashem from this holy letter — each person according to his own level.
