כו "ראש־השנה", כל המקורבין להצדיק האמת צריכין להתאסף יחד במקום אחד על ראש־השנה ולהתפלל בהתקשרות להצדיק ועל־ידי־זה הם מקבלים ממנו הארה נפלאה ותיקון והתקרבות גדולה, מה שאין יכולין לזכות לזה בכל השנה, וכמו שאמר רז"ל "כל עניני הוא ראש־השנה", וזוכין להאיר עליהם ועל כל העולם כולו אור הצדיק לדורי דורות, לכן צריכין לשבר כל המניעות של פרנסה וממון, וטרדא וכבוד, וכיוצא, ולבוא להקיבוץ על ראש־השנה:
One should not eat, drink, or speak before prayer. Even essential speech should be as brief as possible — and through this one's prayer will be acceptable. For one must invest all one's strength and kavvanah in the words of prayer — and therefore one must not weaken or interrupt the yearnings of the soul that longs to pour out its speech before its Creator.
