(כז) אמר, המעינים בספריו שיש להם שכל קצת סבורים שדרכי הקבלה של האר"י זכרונו לברכה וכיוצא, מרמז גם כן בספריו. וחושבין זאת למעלה לספריו שנוגע עד לשם, והם אינם יודעים שהוא להפך. אדרבא גם דרכי הקבלה של הקדמונים זכרונו לברכה נכלל גם כן בדבריו. ולא סים בפרוש רק היה מבאר כונתו ממילא. כלומר אבל כונתו בעצם תורתו גבוה למעלה למעלה יותר ויותר, רק שגם דבריהם הקדושים כלול גם כן בדברי תורתו, כמו שסומכין על איזה דבר, שבודאי הסומך גדול יותר מן הנסמך:

(27.) He said: "Those who study his books who have some intellect think that the ways of the Kabbalah of the Ari of blessed memory and the like are also alluded to in his books. And they consider this a virtue of his books — that they touch up to there. And they do not know that it is the opposite. On the contrary — even the ways of the Kabbalah of the early masters of blessed memory is included also in his words." And he did not finish explicitly — but his intention was clear on its own. Meaning: but his intention in the very substance of his Torah is exalted higher and higher — only their holy words are also included within it, like one who leans on something — <span style="color:#b8a060; font-style:italic;" title="הַשְׁמָטָה — הַסּוֹמֵךְ (שסה)"><for certainly the one who leans is greater than that which is leaned upon></span>:
