(ו) וזה שהוא זכרונו לברכה בעצמו היה מעין לפעמים באלו הספרים, הוא בחינת סוד שהלכו ישראל במדבר שהוא מקום הסטרא אחרא. ואיתא בזהר הקדוש (שמות קנז.) שבשביל זה הלכו ישראל במדבר, כי הם דרכו על הסטרא אחרא בהליכתם שם. ובכונה זו הוא מעין בהם בספרים אלו שהם בחינת מדבר, והבן. אבל לנו הוא אסור גדול מאד להביט בספרים של חקירות הנ"ל. גם עין בהתורה בא אל פרעה בסימן ס"ד בלקוטי א' שמבאר שם גדל האסור לכנס בחקירות, כי נמשכין מחלל הפנוי וכו', ושם מבאר שהצדיק הגדול מאד צריך דיקא לעין בהם כדי להעלות משם הנשמות שנפלו לשם עין שם:

And it is written in the holy Zohar [Shemos 157a] that for this reason Israel went through the wilderness — for they were treading upon the sitra achra through their walking there. And with this intention he looks into these books — which are the aspect of the wilderness. And understand. But for us there is a very great prohibition to look into these books..."
