(קלב) ראיתי מאמר אחד בשם רבנו זכרונו לברכה מלשון החברים והמאמר הזה נאמר פרשת עקב תקס"ו, ויסוד הענין כי כאשר האדם צריך לעצה אזי ישאל עצה מהצדיקים או מתלמידיהם או על כל פנים מבני הצדיקים וכו' עין שם, ועל ידי זה נמתקין כל הדינים וזוכה להנצל מיסורים שלא יבואו עליו כלל. ואפלו אם חס ושלום יבואו עליו היסורים זוכה על ידי זה לקבל אותם באהבה ובשמחה וזוכה לראות ההתגלות אלקות איך שהשם יתברך מצמצם את עצמו כביכול, ומתלבש עצמו בהם ועל ידי זה מגיע על ידי היסורים לרב טוב ולחסד גדול. גם על ידי שמחה הנ"ל זוכה לשמירת הברית שהשם יתברך בעצמו כביכול ישמר את בריתו וכו':
(132.) I found one discourse in the name of Rabbainu o.b.m. from the writing of the friends. And this discourse was said on parshas Ekev 5566. And the essence of the matter: when a person needs counsel, he should ask counsel from tzaddikim, or from their disciples, or at least from the children of tzaddikim etc. — see there. And through this all harsh judgments are sweetened and one merits to be saved from sufferings — so that they do not come upon him at all. And even if, G-d forbid, the sufferings do come upon him — one merits through this...
