(158.) Someone told him about a famous tzaddik — and praised him before Rabbainu o.b.m. — that he breaks all the desires of eating and drinking. Rabbainu o.b.m. asked: "But as for this desire — how does he hold it?" He replied: "Who knows about this?" Rabbainu o.b.m. answered and said: "But in truth the main thing is only that desire — for all other desires one can break them easily. And the main virtue of the tzaddik is according to his holiness in that desire."
