Z. Shazar – who aspires and burns to attach and bind himself to the True Tzaddik, who is the heart of the universe, upon whom hangs the main life force and sustenance of the world. May Hashem guide him on the path of the truth and the faith, and may He renew upon him and his house a good and blessed year.
He must know the stature of his soul in its root – that his soul is exceedingly lofty and precious, and he is from the root of the True Son of the King (See The Legendary Tales of Ancient Times: Story 11 of The Exchanged Children), and with ease he can extirpate from his soul the toxic filth (zoohama) of the aspect of slavery, and return to his stature through the immense power of the Tzaddik who is the True King of Israel (-the Jewish people) – which one spark from His Torah will inflame the light of truth throughout the world, and it will burn and eradicate all the falsehood from the world; and there is enough in it to enliven the entire world for generations upon generations.
I am confident in the loving-kindness of Hashem, that he will surely be counted amongst us on Rosh Hashanah, and he will thrust his head inside the holy gathering (keebootz) of the True Tzaddik who said that his Rosh Hashanah is exceedingly, exceedingly great in the eyes of Hashem, blessed be He, [to the extent] that there is nothing higher than it. And if you have eyes of truth, it is appropriate for you to awaken, to flee, and to fly like an eagle to the light of Rabbainu, the holy and awesome one, may his memory be for a blessing; for, behold you see the magnitude of the loving-kindness and good which Hashem, blessed is He, did with you – that which you have come within our borders by extremely wondrous ways. And through this, in the ultimate end, Hashem will save, and He will enlighten our eyes how to return to Hashem, blessed is He, from all that transpires with us. Only, be strong and courageous with whatever you can, to grab some bit of good every day, and at every time, and in any place (he is). We are fortunate; how good is our portion, that we have merited to know from this new light, the light of lights, a pristine shining and brilliant illumination – which isn’t known, and cannot be known, and there is none who can stand in comprehension of him etc., etc.
Even if the person fell, Heaven forbid, till no end, there as well, Hashem, blessed be He, is found – and He constricts Himself, and He conceals Himself in the ways of His immense wonders, and He reminds him each time with many, many different hints – wherever place he is – so that he return to Him (Likutay Halachos, Orach Chaim 2, Laws of Birchas Hari’eya and Pratteyos – hatavas chalom.5:16) One must definitely flee from the sin in the utmost flight.
But, after one has already transgressed what he has transgressed, Heaven forbid, he needs to know and believe that there is no despair in the world whatsoever (Sichos – Words of Rabbi Nachman 153). And even if he already wanted to overcome thousands of times to return in repentance, and he came up emptyhanded, and he fell to what he fell – and even if he fell to total and severe sins, Heaven forbid, and he transgressed the whole entire Torah thousands of times – even so, he still has hope as long as his soul is still inside him (Likutay Halachos, Orach Chaim 2, Laws of Birchas Harayach and Birchas Hoaduh 4:3). And the main thing is faith – that he should have complete faith in Hashem, blessed is He, and he should endeavor with all the strength to draw close to the True Tzaddik. And he should pour out his words before Hashem, blessed be He – that He should reveal to him the True Tzaddik in order that he merit through Him to complete faith. And then he certainly has hope forever, be it as it may – for the main power to remain standing in the thick of the battle is through faith, which is the encompassment and the core of the whole entire Torah! The transcriber and the arranger, who supplicates and prays for him constantly, who seeks his wellbeing, and his success, in this [world] and the coming [world].
[This letter opens mid-sentence in the source text.] Yisroel Dov Odesser …Who has sharpened his wisdom and his intellect — to attain and to understand the sweetness of the most supernal luminous lights — which are deep counsels, new, complete, upright and clear — that the true shepherd-Tzadik has revealed. Who gathers the displaced of Israel and subdues and nullifies their evil and brings them close to Hashem Yisburach. Fortunate are you that you have merited to taste the pleasantness of the truth — and to be saved from the venom of impurity and the falsehood of heresy and false faiths of the masters of honor and arrogance — the false prophets — who pursue honor and arrogance. And who fight with insolence to conceal and to hide the light of the Tzadik — who is the savior of Israel forever and ever. Woe and alas to them! For through this they uproot the truth — and themselves and Israel — from the source and root of their vitality. And through this they cause all the heresies and all the troubles that come upon Israel. May Hashem have mercy upon them from now on — that they distance themselves from falsehood and return to the truth speedily. And may He return them to the truth — that they flee from falsehood and return to the truth speedily.
