To the honor of the President of Israel — the delight of my heart — Mr. S.Z. Shazar, who sharpens and deepens the eyes of his intellect to discern and to understand the truly true, clear, and lucid truth — in order to heal and to repair the brokennesses of his soul and of the souls of Israel, who roll about outside, within the flood of the insolent waters, and there is no man to gather them home. Fortunate are you that you have merited to taste the pleasantness of the truth. And fortunate are you that you have fallen to the lot of this wondrous and awesome Tzadik, who performs great and awesome wonders with you — to give you life and to bring you close to Hashem Yisburach. Peace and new, fresh, true life.

Know — that one who speaks and entices his fellow to the fear of Heaven, all the words he speaks with his fellow become a book. Through drawing close to the true Tzadik one comes to the fear of Heaven — and through this one does not fall from one's greatness, and one goes and grows ever greater. And his enemies will stumble and fall beneath him. Through the merit of serving the Tzadik, a person is saved from death. Whoever wishes to do good for the Tzadik — the Holy Blessed One grants him power for this. Whoever brings a gift to the Tzadik — the Holy Blessed One gives him satisfaction. Sometimes through a single satisfaction and small thing that one does for the Tzadik, one merits the World to Come. The essence of a person is recognizable through his attachment — through seeing to whom he is attached. The praise with which one praises the Tzadik is as though one praises the Holy Blessed One. What the disputants speak about the Tzadik — that is a great honor for the Tzadik. All the taxes that the nations of the world exact from Israel — these are only because of the blemish they caused in the honor of the Tzadik.
When the Tzadik says some word — as long as that word has not been fulfilled, meaning its time has not yet come — that word is engraved in the supernal world but does not shine with clarity. And when the time comes that it is fulfilled — then the word begins to shine with clarity.
Always side with the persecuted. A quarrelsome person — even if he is a scholar — do not honor him. Where there is quarrel, there is the Satan. Through the dispute that they dispute against the Tzadik, wars are aroused. Sometimes through the self-lowering — when a person lowers himself, or when others lower him — through this a decree of death is removed from him. Through humility, one lengthens one's days. Through humility, grace comes. Through humility, greatness upon greatness is added to him. Through humility, his deeds are not scrutinized. The transcriber Yisroel Dov Odesser
