Letter 113

I hope and yearn to Hashem — for the time of the downfall of these wicked ones has already arrived — to cut them off from the earth — the memory of them — to destroy them utterly from both worlds. (For there is no repair for them except death.) To cut off their name from the earth — the memory of them — from the world. For You are exalted forever, Hashem — and Your hand is always uppermost.

…The worst of all the utter wicked ones found in the world — accursed murderers, sinners and those who cause others to sin. Who dispute and speak slander and a completely false bad name against Tzadikim — and who insult and shame publicly and desecrate Hashem and the true Tzadik and his truly genuine people. May Hashem speedily cut off the lips of falsehood of these wicked ones — the liars, the cheats, the hypocrites, the flatterers, and the heretics — who are the klipa of Haman-Amalek, may their name and their memory be blotted out from generation to generation forever. They and all that is theirs — may they be blotted from the book of the living speedily, speedily — may Hashem hasten to pay them their recompense — and may He give them speedily their harsh and bitter punishment as they deserve. For the sake of the honor of His great name Yisburach — so that all the peoples of the earth will know that there is a G-d Who rules in the land. And through this the honor of Hashem will be magnified and sanctified in all the worlds.

…These sinners — the impure wicked ones — the fathers of all fathers of impurity. May their name and their memory be blotted out speedily. They will certainly have no portion in the World to Come — and no teshuvah whatsoever helps them — and they have no atonement forever.

Many of them have already received some of their punishment. One — Hashem took his young wife suddenly — she was healthy and whole without any illness — and had never had any illness. Suddenly she felt unwell and fell to her bed — and immediately passed away within some days — leaving many orphans — more than ten. And another — who pained me very greatly beyond all measure — passed away suddenly in the middle of the street — and had never had any illness — as is known to all. And two more people were also punished and passed away suddenly for this sin — and so too there were people who were punished and passed away after suffering greatly from illnesses. I am confident in the great power of the Tzadik — may the memory of the righteous be for a blessing — that all the wicked ones who have any part in this in the matter of this falsehood — their end will be bad and bitter — like Korach and his congregation. (All of this I write for the sake of the honor of the holy and pure soul.) For Hashem Yisburach is exacting over the honor of the Tzadikim — more than over His own honor. And they will be shamed and bewildered greatly before the eyes of all.
